Re: GTI engine information
My car remembers all my settings apart from the gearbox mode mode unfortunately. It reverts to normal regardless. Doesn't bother me too much though.
Yes mine is the same. I found this out this morning when I realised the soundaktor was still making its silly noises, so it makes sense that it's ...

Re: GTI engine information
Cheers guys,
I have just watched the Engineering Explained video on the Budac ignition cycle and the general feel of the comments was negative. Overly complicated and it may be the reason a user on here was complaining about a 'squishy' or 'lagy' pedal feel?
I wonder if this is the reason that ...

Re: GTI engine information
Thanks for the responses guys.
I have noticed that under full throttle the turbo creates a fair bit of boost, i think it gets near the 30 psi mark.
That seems very high for what I would assume is an engine that is under less stress because it is de tuned.
It is strange that revo ect haven't ...

GTI engine information
Hey guys!
I'm after some engine information, I have googled it and had a search here but I can't find much.
Does anyone have any information on the polo GTI engine? Is it the same as the golf (I have heard this).
There doesn't seem to be much out there when it comes to tuning these engines either.

Re: Intermittent Engine or Brake Issue?
Thanks for all the info and discussion guys! Some interesting stuff here.
What's really getting me though is 2 days before my last regen I drove a 45 minute motorway journey ( 60 mile round trip). Im now wondering why the car NEEDS to regen, especially when considering I do roughly 30 miles per day ...

Re: Intermittent Engine or Brake Issue?
My guess would be the car is doing an active GPF regeneration. How many miles has your car done, and roughly when (number of miles) did it happen last time? Is your exhaust a bit roomier than normal? When you say labouring at 50mph, what's the engine speed (revs) and what gear are you in?
My wife ...

Intermittent Engine or Brake Issue?
Twice now I have noticed that it sounds like my engine is labouring even at a constant speed (50mph duel carriage driving).
Another symptom is getting 22-25 mpg when sat at 50mph when I normally get 55-60.
Im thinking that this is either an engine / drivetrain issue or something to do with the ...

Anyone else who has recently collected their car, has yours come up on the app? i.e. when you put in the reg? My app or insurance app isnt recognising the reg yet in order for me to swap my insurance over.

Re: New GTI + delivery
The tracker is basically useless. My car has been at Tyne since Saturday and I'm still on 5b.
My dealer has emailed me this morning saying car transport was ordered yesterday so anyone else who's car went to Tyne should be with them soon.
