Re: PURCHASE OF VW POLO GTI 2.0 2018 MODEL
Totally agree with @Monkeyhanger. I own one and I am super content. At the time I didn't know about GPF, but I'm glad mine hasn't. Sound is way better especially with an after market exhaust

Re: Polo GTI+ owner - downsize to UP GTI vs upsize to Golf GTI
And hopefully the price will go down too and the supply of occasions will also expand. At this moment the buying costs are a show stopper for me. In the meantime I'm gonna keep enjoying my GTI.

Re: Should I stage 1 tune my polo?
I can certainly recommend it. Went to 270+ HP. The main difference is that instead of not happening very much from about 4500 rpm, it keeps going after that. Hence the much better 100 - 200 time (in my case 14,5 sec instead of 20+). But of course that difference presents itself in every in between a...

Re: Remap 2018 Polo Beats 95
I am driving my 4th remapped car now. Have always had it done by one of the few reknowned VAG specialized firms here in the Netherlands. Never had any problems, neither did a lot of others. Seeking another (in most cases cheaper) solution will in general be ok, but not always.

Re: Polo GTI+ owner - downsize to UP GTI vs upsize to Golf GTI
Hi @beetle274; I am 70 years too and I drive a Polo GTI, remapped to 270 hp and with a nice Milltek exhaust. I thought about downgrading to an Up! GTI, because that car is a genuine drivers car and has lower costs. The Polo is in fact too good, too stable and forgiving. On the other hand it's a perf...

Re: 2018 gti launch control
Don't know. When you disable ASR, it should work. I did it once, but never again. Didn't feel very healthy, so much force (270 HP in my case).

Re: 2018 Polo Gti, pops and bangs/backfires
Another exhaust system, like the Milltek non resonated catback. I'm very content with it. I have had a remap up to 271 HP and 450 Nm. Of course there is wheelspin when revving from standstill, as in every front wheel driven car with a lot of power. So better don't put the pedal all down at the very ...

Re: Polo GTi + 207 hp
It is a wet DSG 7 and not the dry version as in less powerfull cars like 1.0 and 1.2 tsi. It can and has to handle much more torque, like the DSG 6

Re: Polo GTi + 207 hp
For the 6 box there also is ample room for increased power. Torque can be increased up to 450 Nm (mine) at least without any problem. It should be said it would also be wise to have the box remapped to. But I guess that goes as well for the 7 wet box.

Re: GTI (AW) REVO stage 1 Beta test review
This DSG can handle much more, but as said it's wise to have it remapped too. For driveability and increased clamp limit and clamp force. Apart from this my DSG stage 2 remap contained optimizing the shift rpm's, adaptation of max shift rpm, optimized shifting speed and no kickdown when in manual

Re: Polo GTi + 207 hp
Why would it be? Besides I find the 6 box very smooth compared with the 7 box in smaller engines.

Re: GTI (AW) REVO stage 1 Beta test review
My experience (272 HP/450 Nm, done in The Netherlands) is the same, most important change is after 4500 rpm (my 100 - 200 km/h went from 20+ to 14,5).
Had my DSG remapped also, which is I would say almost mandatory.

Re: Remap 2018 Polo Beats 95
What's also of importance is the way you handle the car. Always take care to warm the engine up before going all the way. The specs are also set at a certain level to prevent warranty claims by people who don't care about driving the engine warm. There is a fair margin. I had 4 cars remapped. 2 1.2 ...

Re: Michelin PS4's
It may come as a surprise, but I am very content with the Michelin CrossClimates + on my GTI. No complaint whatsoever. They perform fairly well in all conditions.
