Hi,
just saw your post, yes once regen was passed my fuel consumption was back to normal.
And the engine run smoother.
Are you sure it was a needed gpf regen that was causing the initial extra fuel ?
Other regen symptoms are the car asking you to change gear down to keep motor
revs up ?

Re: Clicking noise from electric windows
Hi, noise has been intermittent. Yesterday I tried e reset of both windows. Subsequently, I have not heard the noise, but maybe it will come back.. I'll report back.. I did the reset via OBD11. Apparently its also possible with the door control buttons. https://www.wikihow.com/Reset-a-Car%27s-Automa...

Clicking noise from electric windows
Hi all, since maybe a month now, I am hearing a low clicking noise from the door when I have partially opened either front window. Initially only occasionally, now more frequently. Sounds like a small relay closing. It sounds every say 5 seconds or so. It goes away if I shut the window again. Someti...

Re: Anyone had forced GPF regens yet?
Hi Oom Stu those are interesting photos, and Ho8882000 those are some useful technical details - thanks to both of you ! It confirms that the GPF temperature will surely be impacted by the outside temperature. So in winter months it is longer to get hot enough to burn-off. I post my fuel consumption...

Re: Anyone had forced GPF regens yet?
Hi Teee, thanks for the update. I look at the soot mass weight in mg, and % blockage. My burn-off took me from 1742mg to 0, and 27% to 0. At the same time it did not register that my regeneration was just 0kms before, only that the forced regeneration by the garage (february) had been 8000kms earlie...

Re: Anyone had forced GPF regens yet?
SUCCESS !! At last sorted. Yesterday was a mild day before a cold spell today. Also we entered a "relaxed" lockdown in France with more shops allowed to open. I drove 25 miles at a mostly constant 50 mph on the B road to a nearby town, then sped along the bypass /motorway for 15 miles at 8...

Re: Anyone had forced GPF regens yet?
Another run today, did a longer distance (45 miles round trip) to ensure temperature was up, and used extensive cruise control. Before I left my reading was 1730mg, back home it went down to 1728mg, yes you read that right -2mg !!!!! I wonder whether one of my sensors is not properly measuring, say ...

Re: Anyone had forced GPF regens yet?
Did my dog walking run yesterday, with plenty of overruns (foot off the accelerator). Back home connected up OBD11 and measured soot level, and.. not much change around 100mg (1700+) less. Tuesday I got rid of ~450mg on a similar drive.. So only thought was maybe lower outside temperatures (maybe 8C...

Re: A little help please
As you will read in the regen post I have had it twice, second one at the moment. Yes I saw start/stop not functioning. The car uses this time to keep exhaust hot and send oxygen through the exhaust to burn off particles. Typically at 1400 revs/min and 1+ litre/hr consumption (on a 1.0tsi so probabl...

Re: Anyone had forced GPF regens yet?
Update on my regen status. Back in march I bought a Obdeleven dongle to allow me to read out engine data. The idea being to check my GPF soot level regularly.. which didnt happen.. Anyway back from the drive where regen started I did a readout : soot mass 2376mg, soot load 36.9%, and blockage rate 0...

Re: Knocking noise from rear? - it'll be the tailgate...
Had a noise when going over speed bumps. Looked at all sorts of things, rear seats properly locked in place,
spare wheel bolted down, etc..
Tried this and it fixed it ! Thanks !!

Re: Anyone had forced GPF regens yet?
Yesterday regen started again !! I am now on 16200kms so about double the mileage of my first incident back in January. With the french lock down I am not allowed to drive much (I am semi retired). So no chance to just drive around to sort it.. and no nearby motorways either.. It happened on a 35 mi...

Re: Anyone had forced GPF regens yet?
I bought an Obdeleven dongle and installed the software. A bit of a pain to get it to connect. But in the end I was able to read out the particle filter status. 300mg of soot, and last regen corresponding to when I took the car to the garage in Dijon. So I will now be able to do regular readouts and...

Re: Anyone had forced GPF regens yet?
Oh and also, during the past week I tried to see whether I could get some visibility on soot levels in the particle file via odb2. I have an old vcds cable and PC software and recently bought a Carista bluetooth adaptor. I can read out the car status with VCDS with no errors but dont have the code f...
