Re: Negative battery stamp

So it was relatively painless to change over. No issues apart from Obdeleven at first didn't want to update the new details so had to restart the app. The only area of concern was whether it should be set for "fleece" or "binary-agm". Looking online, there's arguments for either ...

Re: Negative battery stamp

I did notice the existing serial number looked a little off, so at first thought the battery had been changed but date stamp on the negative terminal suggests otherwise. What bought all this to a head was the increasing reluctance of stop start being available and on inspection, lower than expected ...

Re: Negative battery stamp

Just ordered a Varta D52 027 AGM battery through Tayna. Did look at the E39 but it won't fit my battery tray which is pretty much maxed out at a battery size of 242x190x170 (type 027).

Will report how the swap goes when it arrives :)

Cheers.

Re: Negative battery stamp

Thanks. Had a look at the battery settings and it would also suggest it's the original (see image). Given that it's 6 years down the line (nearly) I'd rather opt for preventative maintenence rather than reactionary so a new battery is on the cards. Anyone know if there's anything to be gained from s...

Negative battery stamp

Noticed on my BlueGT that the negative terminal is stamped with 34 and 14. I'm assuming that's week 34 of 2014 which would be about right for the car if its still the original battery. Thinking its perhaps time to think about changing it. Might try and go AGM instead of the EFB type. Anyhow, anyone ...

Re: Two faults with my BlueGT. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oddly enough I have the same quirk with the indicators on my 2014 BlueGT. Sometimes on the unlocking mine to stop the indicators, it will make a load bleep bit like the alarm going off for a split second. No idea what's causing it. A VW technician suggested it was just a quirk of the car when I ment...

Re: Chrome Exhaust tips for blue GT

Na, no cutting involved. Literally pluck out 2 of the 4 retaining clips and bang them on the existing outlets. 5 minute job.

Dover/Deal/Thanet. Have to admit the car spends most of its time in the garage as its not my daily driver :)

Re: Chrome Exhaust tips for blue GT

I have recently fitted the Yeti tailpipes to my BlueGT and removed 2 retaining clips by twisting them out with a pair of pliers.

Applied the trims with some assistance from a rubber mallet and all looks good and they definitely aren't coming off. Perfect fit.

Bought mine from Caffyns on ebay.

BlueGT chrome exhaust trim install

So following on from other threads about chrome tips for the exhaust on the BlueGt, I took a gamble and ordered a pair (comes as 2 in the box) of chrome tips on ebay for £35 from Caffyns. They are for the Skoda Yeti but with removing 2 of the 4 retaining clips, they fit very securely after being tap...

Bluegt battery coding

Hi all, if I was to replace my battery with a new one (might end up getting an AGM style as I think the bluegt has Efb, does it need coding at all? I had to do this with my Mini but not my Captur so I'm a little unsure on the Polo. Ta!

Dashcam install

So I've spent way too long this weekend installing my Blackvue DR650 into the Polo. Managed to get it installed on the upper part of the boot lid (most I've seen have had it on the lower part by the wiper). Admittedly I've added a hole and have a wire along the top part but I'm not that bothered as ...

Re: Plastic clonk/tap - BlueGT

Ok, so we have a result! It's fixed! :D The car must have had some work done on the b pillar by the previous owner. Long story short, one of the bolts around the seat belt area had been incorrectly torqued and was putting too much tension on the bodywork so as the chassis flexed around corners and b...

Re: Plastic clonk/tap - BlueGT

The car is now going into my local dealership for them to investigate along with a noisey dash fan that flaps loudly when the air is turned off.

I'll let you all know how the dealership gets on!

Re: Plastic clonk/tap - BlueGT

I've just had someone else sitting in the back whilst I drove it. He couldn't pin point either. Said it almost sounded like it was something rolling around slowly. Pretty much does it mainly on corners now. Also have tried driving with boot lid wide open. Still there! Not sure it's lubricant thing o...
