Resealing or re-lensing LED headlights

Anyone had their LED headlights resealed or had new lenses fitted?

Moisture ingress into my passenger side is getting worse. Butyl seals on both sides are quite dry rotted and looking worse for wear. lenses are a bit battered after 105K so was maybe thinking of just fitting new lenses but don't ...

Re: 6c polo Gti issues

You may have already sorted this but for others reading.

Oil leak and misting will be a combination of failing seals on the cam cover and potentially a failing PCV valve where one of the one way valves within is sticking causing boost to pressurise the crankcase (I'm on my third ). Both are ...

Re: Active TPMS on PQ26?

Seems it may not be possible on PQ26 :(
Due to the constant presence of an error regarding the absence of a message in block 65, a verdict was made - there is no support for the RDKS protocol in the BCM blocks/gateways of the PQ26 platform :(

I'm assuming you're referring to 5Q0 907 273 B antenna/module and 5Q0 907 275 B pressure sensors?

Active TPMS on PQ26?

As the title says I'm just seeing if it's possible to retrofit an active TPMS system to PQ26 platform vehicles (6C) as from what I understand no PQ26 platform vehicle had it from the factory but the retrofit to PQ25 (6R) is fairly well known.

Any info or ideas?

Re: Polo GTI 6c

They're a pain to bleed, if I remember correctly the dealer had to vacuum-fill mine after they had replaced the water pump and thermostat and even then I still had an air pocket that bled itself almost a year later.

I'm fairly certain the secondary coolant pump will run with the ignition on, the ...

1.8 TSi MPG Mapped/Tuned (potential leaky injector?)

What MPG is everyone getting who has had their 1.8TSi GTi remapped/tuned?

For context, I have a manual with some basic bolt-ons and a stage 1 at 260bhp/450nm and suspect I may have a leaky injector.

Stock on the motorway I was averaging 39-42mpg indicated and no lower than 28mpg indicated when ...

Re: Is a Garrett Powermax legal for use on UK public roads?

Purely just them covering their arse legally. They're an international company so it's just a catch-all statement so nothing to be concerned with in regards to keeping the car road legal in the UK.

The last part is the main piece to take note of:
Only use Garrett Performance Kits in compliance with ...

Re: How major are these issues a garage noted?

Definitely get the water pump sorted ASAP. FYI you're looking at nearly a grand in parts and labour for that alone if done through a main dealer. See the attached invoice, was from 2021 so prices will have more than likely increased since. I believe the current revision of the thermostat is P ...

Re: Upgrading parts, downpipe for GTI 1.8 2016 (6c)?

The pendulum mount attaches to the underside of the gearbox and the subframe, its whole purpose is to restrict how much the engine can twist. The engine and gearbox mounts also do this to an extent but they're mainly load bearing and to keep the engine in the car.

Video explaining its purpose and ...

Re: Upgrading parts, downpipe for GTI 1.8 2016 (6c)?

Firstly, welcome to the forum :)

I too have just recently started to do some actual power mods and it's also the first car I've done some to.

A decat will be an MOT fail if noticed during inspection, if not it will then almost definitely fail emissions. It will also make the exhaust louder and as ...

Front springs L72, 6C0 411 105 C
Rear shocks 1JK, 6C0 513 025 AS

6C GTi Res Delete

Decided I wanted a bit more noise out the back to replace the fake noise from the soundaktor.

I didn't want to spend the amount for a catback after only recently buying all the parts for a clutch change and front suspension refresh so settled on a resonator delete. The one I went for was the ...
