All Season Tyres On Order

I used winter tyres on spare wheels on the previous Polo, but have decided to go on to All Season tyres. The R trim only runs on little 195 tyres, but as these are not a popular size they are more expensive and harder to find, so I'm going for the very common and much more affordable 205 Goodyear Cr...

Re: Lane departure

It is indeed a complete PITA having to switch it off every time you hit the start button.

Can cause more trouble than it's worth. Please VW just let us drive the car.

Followed by the very annoying NAV display being the default start screen.

Noisy Tyres

Our little tiddler 999 Polo is only coming up to 1,000 miles. We love it, but Oh, what a roar the little Goodyear tyres are making. I’ve honestly never commented on noisy tyres before, through many cars and miles. Has anyone met noisy tyres? And discovered quiet ones? I’ll be considering 4 Season ty...

Re: Is it worth to upgrade to Sat-Nav on Ready 2 Discover

Both our cars have built in SatNav, but I still use a stick on Garmin because it is easier to use and has more functionality.

Often play both side by side and flip/flop the digi-dash.

Re: Disappointing delivery time

Come and get it the man said. I’d provided the short number plates to be stuck on. They gave the job to the village idiot so we arrived to find the front short plate stuck on the (factory fitted) monstrous black plastic backing plate. No one thought - “ Mmm this might not look good - but we’ll stick...

Re: Disappointing delivery time

My Lucky Lady received an eMail from dealer this morning - new Polo can be collected tomorrow.

So 12 noon pick up.

She’s looking forward to it after a month without her own car.

Though she has learned to drive mine.

Disappointing delivery time

We handed back our GTI in March after a 3 month extension, optimistically hoping for delivery of replacement R model 6 weeks after Build week 6. No such luck. Today I called dealer and was told that it’s still sitting at Emden. Just as it was at the end of March. Any hint of excitement / enthusiasm ...

Re: Hit massive pothole and no obvious damage

Do double check your tyre closely.

A pot hole slashed the sidewall on our nearly new front RH tyre a few years ago.

Not always glaringly obvious.

New tyre right away.

Re: Better front Mats

Manufacturer fitted rubber mats front and rear every time. Have used in both cars for many years.

Including the special flexible one that covers the rear tunnel in the middle.

I’ve returned a few cars after 3 years service with the original soft carpets in A1 condition thanks to the rubber mats.

Re: ID.2all concept

ID2 mentioned in our paper today. I pointed it out to my wife and said, here's your next car in 4 years time.

Polo GTI departed yesterday and a tiddler 999 Polo R is due any day soon.

Will indeed be interesting to see where little leccy cars go.

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

Waved goodbye.

The BCA agent conceded it was one of the cleanest cars she’d ever collected.

Only noted one light trolley scratch on RH passenger door.

Alloys unmarked.

Roll on new Polo R.

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

Removed the winter wheels and gave it a final wash. Due for collection in 2 days. If it stays dry tomorrow I may clean the windows properly. Someone, somewhere is gonna get a mint Reef Blue 2019 low miles GTI+ with KESSY, Hot Seats and Spare Wheel - for top dollar no doubt. The fluffy mats are still...

Our R Line is due this month and I’ll be looking in the boot for the wheel we ordered.

And - I’ll be looking for the locking wheel bolt key that was missing last time.

Re: voice control wants me to pay 250 quid to use it ?

In recent years I’ve tried talking to a couple of cars.

Complete nightmare.

Never worked so will never try again.

£250 is a lot of fuel.

I can visualise the face on the child at the VW dealer in March who wants to explain the Apps, Voice, and other complete b****x to a Grumpy Old Man :D
