Re: Polo GTI long term costs estimation
Thanks for the replies. Seems that the costs aren't going to be big enough to justify a change; that's good news. It is a great car and my better half adores it.

Polo GTI long term costs estimation
I know this is a how long is a piece of string question, but the wife and I have just retired and we are considering options for the next 8 to 10 year, after which we will probably give up driving. I can no longer get a car through work, she has a 2019 Polo GTi+ she has owned from new. It has 17,000...

Re: Quick poll on alloys- Parkers or Brescias
My wifes factory order came with Brecias and I asked her this morning if she regretted asking the dealer change them for the smaller Parkers. At the time she liked the idea of improved ride comfort and if she could: have something she didn't hate, get that for less money, especially considering the ...

Re: Apple CarPlay issues on GTI+
On the poor connection front I assume both USB sockets in the front show the same problem? I was going to suggest, as an alternative, using one of the two USB sockets in the rear. However, having just tried that, all they do is provide power. From what others have said poor connections are not unco...

Re: Coming from a Golf GTI mk7.5
Good news and bad from DTD. 12.5% discount but the spec is only available on a factory order so a 6 month wait. Given that the big dealer deposit locks you in it’s effectively a £2.5k punt on no-deal brexit at even money. Sounds fun  If you haven't yet committed to the Lookers car (sounds lik...

Looks very likely, good basis for a "group buy" if it does.

Re: GTI clutter capacity
Just lifted the floor of my boot (in the lower position) and I have 4 fold flat bags 2 cagoules and a road atlas. I do have a normal sized tyre. Is that in the space to the left or around the tyre? https://www.drivelife.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/2018-VW-Polo-GTI-Car-Review-10.jpg Given that ...

Re: GTI clutter capacity
The boot is small. I currently have the following items. Backpack Small black&decker vacuum Anti-ice spray stuff Torque wrench Went grocery shopping yesterday, only had room for 2 grocery bags. It’s real tiny. That seems smaller than my worst fears, and none of that will fit under the floor? It...

GTI clutter capacity
The need to address her clutter problem is the one cloud on my wife’s horizon as she waits to pick up her new car on Monday week. She understands that the GTIs boot capacity is 305 litres as opposed to 351 for the regular Polo and 380 for her current MK7 Golf. However some pictures I’ve seen online ...

Re: Interest rate drop on GTI
Can confirm this. Pick up my car tomorrow (GTI+) and the stealer informed me yesterday of the good news. Increased contribution on their behalf and an interest rate drop means the car is an awesome deal right now. Our’s has confirmed too, the wife was happy with the cash deal she’d secured so £1000...

Re: Interest rate drop on GTI
Just noticed a very low offer on Carwow for a stock GTI plus that includes a £1000 “dealer contribution”. It might be on its way more generally, just not published yet. We are planning to pay cash for the wife’s car in a couple of weeks, this might change the calculations. From what I've read, it's...
