In case anyone cares, I scraped the Porsche wheels idea for now and went for a set of TT forged 17s. They are one hell of an improvement over my Abt 17s!!

On the other hand, I have got the wheel & tire place to keep an eye on 2 sets of Porsche front wheels for me.

Wow Speedlaw u're the expert.
I took a look at the rear arches this morning, my 7.5" ET30 wheels have already flushed the rear wheel wells, so I reckon the stock 9N fenders do not give another 1.5" clearance for the 9" wheels without looking strange (this is the catch).

Btw have any of you got pics ...

I think he's asking what are the differences between the 75hp and 100hp versions of the 1.4L 16V gasoline engines.... which VW sells in Europe and others parts of the world like Hong Kong but not in China....

But I don't know the difference either.

oh thanks carmadaaron, I am certainly aware of the need of 5x100 to 5x130 adapters, I am however worried to have got them in the wrong size. What do u think? 9" wheels at the back, is that possible at all?

I am pretty sure that it is indeed illegal to add fender flares in HK, technically anything ...

996 wheels swap in mind: width & offset help needed

Hi I have a Polo 9N riding on Abt 17x7.5 (ET30) on all 4 corners, the car is also mildly lowered with KW V2s, while the rears are fine the fronts are very close to rubbing.

Lately I have a chance to get my hands on a set of 996 17s with the following dimensions:

Front: 17x7 (Offset:53)
Rears ...

I suppose a 9N can be facelifted by installing a new hood, new fenders, new head lights and new front bumper... can anyone confirm this?

I'm sure this will cost less than trading in the 9N for a 9N2, my 9N is running fine, so I found no reason to trade in if a facelift can be done aftermarket ...

Hey carmadaaron sorry for the late reply, I have not really measured the ride height before and after.

There is a gap between tire and arch about the thickness of one finger, that means around 1.5" lowered I guess. IT's a pain in the arse to ride low here in Hong Kong, speedbumps, underground ...

I got the alloys off the hands of a fellow dubber in HK, refurbrished them before putting them onto the Polo, like new!

around ~350 pounds (excluding repair & refurbrishing) ....
Someday I'd like to have Porsche wheels on it, used wheels are cheap in HK as long as you are willing to pay for ...

well.....in theory we are not supposed to touch suspension and ride height here. But in reality cops only chase after cars with coffee can mufflers, gunmetal rims and racing decals....

the 100ps 1.4 on stick w/ A/C turned on is not any better than an auto, haha
