GTi Engine
I thought it was going to have the 1.4 engine with a super-charger and turbo-charger, as per the new Golf GT (slightly detuned in Polo)

Time to fit headlight bulbs !!
Now had matching xenon sidelights and full beam fitted. VW quote a two hour charge for changing as the bumper assembly has to come off to fit ! Luckily my friendly local mechanic has done for a drink. Colussus you were right with your bulb choice.

Bulb Type
I agree with the sidelights, but thought the main lights (Low & High) were H4 - certainly there are shown as on www.powerbulbs.co.uk
More confused..have checked the www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk site and it agrees with your bulb type ?

Missing my Car
Only had my car for four weeks, and the last two it has been in the garage awaiting the (known about, but reflected in price) paint work!! Hopefully get it back this week, so can start doing my subtle mods, starting with the Denision head unit, still undecided whether to get a single disk vw cd ...

Still confused over what bulbs are needed to go with the Xenon's. Do people agree that it is a W5W (501) sidelight with a H1 Mainbeam...

Paint Work
Bought car two weeks ago fairly cheap at sub £5k,but paintwork needs attention to remove :-
1, Two keylines to pass rear quarter + very slight ding.
2, Peppered Bonnet (only down to white base laser), but quite heavy.
3, Surface blemishes on drivers door and rear quarter.
Best paintwork price so ...

Indicator Wattage !
Strange question, but on a similar topic, my sidelights look very poor against the Xenons. I note from another thread they do a 5w and 10w bulb that fits, can the polo's wiring take the 10w bulb ! ?

Cruise Control - Does anyone have it on their 6N2 polo ?
Followed this long chain of e-mails but still can't find anyone who has had the cruise control fitted. Has anyone had it fitted now retrospectively and where from ?
Cheers,
Neil

Cheap Tyres and Poor Handling
Admittedly I have car from my old leon that rides on much bigger and fatter tyres but GTi feels very light going into corners. The guy sold the car we new but cheap tyres, do you think that a better make such as goodyear will improve the handling or do I need to get power steering adjusted / car ...
