Sadly no news is not good news. So far after fitting various new relays and switches, not sure of the difference, it has baffled the local VW technicians as well as a team down in Milton Keynes apparently.

So now they are waiting for technical advice from Germany ...

Only this time it lit up like a Christmas tree with numerous error messages, the car stayed all lit up and functions with the key out and there was a strange burning ...

To have had this happen on a motorway could have been catastrophic.

The response from VW Stockport this morning was
“ yeah... bring it in and we’ll have a look at it...”

It could well be but the AA guy went through 5 fuses before deciding to recover. What was most worrying is that a fuse could cause such an instant shutdown. Dread to think what would have happened on the motorway at even higher speed ...
