Re: Is it worth to upgrade to Sat-Nav on Ready 2 Discover
My new one has built in Sat Nav but I only used it the first couple of times. Now I use Google Maps connected wirelessly via Android Auto. You still get the turn by turn directions on the active info display (between the dials) even with Google Maps, just can't display the full map on it.

Re: gti dsg question please
I must admit I rarely use Sport mode in mine unless I'm trying to show off. It holds the gears low so you've always got the power available to boot it, but it makes it quite tiring to drive for any length of time, and ruins your fuel economy. It sounds nice though. There is also another mode called ...

Re: Discover Navigation Pro - worth it?
Good to know that they all have the wireless Android Auto now! I also specced the wireless charging. Hoping I don't have the overheating issue with my Samsung S20 Ultra as I have real problems with the cable staying connected in my current Polo - every bump I go over causes Android Auto to disconnect.

Re: Discover Navigation Pro - worth it?
Also have a feeling you lose the physical buttons and maybe 4 of the shortcut buttons. Not gospel however dyor. Yep can confirm that. The demonstrator that I test drove had the bigger unit (didn't realise until afterwards), and it lacks the buttons and the volume and selection knobs. The volume adj...

Re: Discover Navigation Pro - worth it?
Yes good point. It seems to me an astronomical amount of money for just a bigger screen.
I'm just hoping that wireless Android Auto is supported with the standard one. Having to connect my phone with the cable is one of the biggest annoyances in my current car.

Discover Navigation Pro - worth it?
Hello all This past weekend I ended up ordering myself a brand new 2022 model GTI! As much as I still love my current 2019 GTI+ it is now nearing the end of the PCP agreement and it ended up working out more worthwhile to use its trade in value on a new one than it was to try and refinance it - and ...

Re: Remind me how DSG works
I've not actually been able to check, however I'd have thought for safety that the brake lights would illuminate at any time the brakes are applied, whether by the ACC or by the driver.

Re: Remind me how DSG works
Yes in all modes (Normal, Sport and Eco) it will change down as you brake. It will also change down more aggressively if you're braking whilst going downhill, I have found. In Eco mode it will knock it out of gear and 'coast' if you're neither accelerating or braking, however as soon as you press th...

Re: Coolant level warning message
I had this too with my 2019 GTI+. Was on the motorway when the Low Coolant warning came up which was a bit unnerving. It wasn't running hot so I carried on carefully and topped the coolant up when I got home. Never got the message again.

Re: Polo to learn to drive in
I still think it's beneficial to learn to drive in a manual. If anything because apart from in the US most rental cars around the world will be manual as standard unless you pay a lot extra for an auto. It's a good skill to learn and is something that really once you've mastered it you never really ...

Re: Brake Pedal Hard/Sensitive
Hmm, strange one then!
I always find they've yanked the handbrake up super tight when they've parked it to collect as well. Don't know whether this has any effect.

Brake Pedal Hard/Sensitive
Hi guys, My 2019 GTI went in for it's second service last week for health check and oil change etc. When it came out and I started to drive home I noticed again that the brakes were rock hard and the first junction I almost flew through the windscreen just using my normal foot force  It was lik...

Re: Coolant Level Low
Another important note about coolant, if your car is manufactured before the 07-July-2019 it is filled with G13 at the factory. But if you car is manufactured after the 07-July-2019, you car is filled with "G12 evo" coolant at the factory. Good info, thanks! Mine is May 2019 so would be G...

Re: Coolant Level Low
Oil looks clean so don't think it's that.
It could be trapped air, although it's almost 2 years old so I'd have thought it would have happened sooner if it was that? It's only just done 5000 miles though so perhaps mileage wise it could only be considered months old!
