Re: Changing the front Subframe 2009 6R 1.6 TDI
That's good news, I was concerned originally just in case you had just bought "any old" Polo/Audi/SEAT/Skoda small car subframe, but I've checked and see that both your car and the 2013 A1 with the 1.6TDI used the same subframe p/n 6R0 199 315 L. Have fun! Thanks, no I checked first and h...

Re: Changing the front Subframe 2009 6R 1.6 TDI
M12 X 1.5 X 75mm 4 – off 70Nm +90 Deg. Edit:- sorry I used the number for the same sized/type bolts for the 6C 1.2TSI, your number is correct and I'd think that the torque will be the same, I've no idea why the bolt number changed for the same size of bolts though! Later:- I checked my Haynes repai...

Re: Changing the front Subframe 2009 6R 1.6 TDI
Thanks for all the replies, can anyone confirm that this is the correct part number for the bolts I need and what they should initially be torqued to:
VW Audi Skoda SEAT hex collared bolt M12 subframe N10528602
Thanks

Changing the front Subframe 2010 6R 1.6 TDI
Hi All When changing the waterpump/cambelt on my daughters Polo, the friend doing it commented that the front subframe was badly corroded (hole in one place) and it would fail its next MOT in Feb. I've found a replacement on eBay and will swap it out once theres a break in the weather. However I'm n...

Advice needed on how to diagnose coolant leak - 2010 1.6 TDI
Hi All, looking for advice. The water level on my daughter's Polo is slowly dropping and regularly needs topping up. I've searched and it seems that the common causes could be water pump, egr valve or head gasket? I've checked the following so far that I read of as possible causes: 1) Can't see any ...

Wash&Wax water top-up!
Hi all My daughter has managed to top up her coolant reservoir with "Wash&Wax" instead of antifreeze (same colour) I believe she added max about 0.5 litres to the expansion bottle. She then went for a short run to the shops Any suggestions if this will cause any harm, can we leave it o...

Re: Front wiper arms removal - rainwater leak drivers footwell
OK Finally managed to get this done today. Once finally managed to get the wiper arms off, process was this: 1) Remove foam rubber seal at front of the plenum cover, just pulls off easily 2) remove plenum cover this is secured at the back via a "tongue and groove" type fixing along the len...

Re: Front wiper arms removal - rainwater leak drivers footwell
Thanks, have a full refund for the crappy one at least. just disappointing as now have to wait for the hopefully stronger one to arrive after Easter. Just hope the weather stays ok for my daughter driving as her wipers are going very slow currently (serves me right for buying cheapo one first time i...

Re: Front wiper arms removal - rainwater leak drivers footwell
Hi Thanks for reply. Original puller certainly wasnt plastic! The centre part was a cast metal part and that was what failed, looked quite granular. I was actually tightening it a lot in an attenpt to get the arm off. Have had problems years ago with my old Golfs and Scirroco arms but never ha...

Re: Front wiper arms removal - rainwater leak drivers footwell
Is there any update on this and any more guidance on removing the cover. The wiper mechanism on my daughters 2010 6r Polo has become quite slow so assume its quite siezed and needs some copper grease applying. I have ordered a replacement motor/mechansim from eBay that I'll "renovate" befo...
