Chavy, Pikey Scumbags....

I hate my f*****g neighbours  !!

I live in a terraced house on a cul-de-sac type thing. All the houses face each other and there is allocated parking outside everyones house. All the neighbours are ok- apart from a really twatty family next door. They have a back garden and there's a field ...

NO HEADLIGHTS!!!

I was driving last night and suddenly came to an area which didn't have alot of lamposts. I realised that I couldn't really see anything so got out to have a look.
My headlight arn't working- just the sidelights and also my full beam lights won't stay on.

So, today I took it to VW and one ...

I decided to nip into a local tyre and exhaust place (not Kwikfit!) and they had a look at the exhaust for me. The guy said that the exhaust kwikfit fitted was a bit s**t (apparantly they fit exactly the same ones) and they only last about a year. There was no bent exhaust bracket

He ...

Dilemma

I posted a few months ago about an exhaust problem I was having (a droning noise when the car goes above 25mph- kwikfit  reckon it's a bent exhaust bracket) and I'm in a bit of a dilemma...

Went to VW dealer to order the bracket and told him about kwikfit (he looked at me as though I was a ...

Booked it in.

Just booked the car into a local garage (Palace Garage in Surbiton, Surrey). They quoted me £170 for the service and £152 for the cambelt- both for £349 inc VAT all parts and labour etc...which I'm happy with.
I don't know much about the garage to be honest but I drive past it everyday and it's ...

More quotes

John Ashley VW in New Malden Surrey quoted me £250 for the service and £180 for the cambelt change- How could the other VW dealer charge £270 more for the cambelt?...That's unbelievable!!

Waiting for a ringback from an independent VW specialist called Wheelbase in Hersham Surrey... Will ...

UNBELIEVABLE?? OR NOT??

I just rang up Cobornes vw in surrey and asked them to quote me a price for a cambelt change and an 80,000 mile service...
I tried not to sound shocked but he quoted me £450 for the cambelt and £380 for the service... that's £830!! And that's without finding out I need all sorts of extra work ...

BIZARRE

Ok- I posted the original post at about 5am this morning- gave a mate a lift to work. Used the car at about 10am and there is now no noise coming from brakes- it seems to be back to normal. ABS light stayed on for quite a while but it's now turned off...

OK, I'm really confused? Any ideas why it ...

Brake pedal noise

Last used the car on Saturday morning- came to use it this morning (monday) and I think I've got a problem.... When I brake I get a weird grindy noise- it only happens after the pedal is pushed about half way in- slowing down doesn't make a noise but stopping does. The pedal feels weird too- a bit ...

Went back to KF before they closed.
They put it on the ramp again- called me over to see that a bracket that the exhaust kinda rests on was bent...Don't know how they missed it the first time  ...
Said they don't do brackets and I should get one from a main dealer!
So that begs the question ...

Annoyed!

Well, just been to Kwik fit (took absolutely ages to get there coz of roadworks!). They put it on a ramp and told me it was the backbox- £48, was relieved it wasn't too expensive, only took them about 20mins.

Drove it home- Still making the noise- very pi$$ed off!!! Gonna have to go back tomorrow ...

Exhaust or something worse?

I was driving yesterday and heard a weird noise (cross between a hoover and a racing car- tone gets higher as I go faster...).
It only happens (or I can only hear it) when I get up to 30mph and higher.
I reversed back into my parking space the other day and backed into the kerb, I did hear a bit of ...

Well I've been to my local tyre and alloy garage and they took the tyres off and found the alloys were corroding.
They've been sent off for refurbishment (£200 for all four) and I should get them back next Tuesday...Hopefully that'll mean no more pumping for me YAY! 8)

Pump me up...

Hey,
I've got a really annoying problem- my two front tyres keep going down (also one of the back ones does it but not as much). I have to pump the tyres up everytime I want to use the car, which is a nightmare!
I can park the car on Saturday afternoon and come to use it Sunday morning and the two ...
