thanks mate, just glad ive sorted it for my daughter, thats the trouble when you buy second hand parts which are not fittet together when you buy them..
hopefully this thread will help someone else, p.s no light on today too... lol

changed the sensor to the correct one with the wires built into the angle sonsor with a plug on the end and fitted and light has stayed off, this angle sensor fitted very well as it was shaped to fit, the other one fitted but had to be forced in, when i got the steering rack it didnt have the sensor ...

just waiting on picking up the new angle senson the one with the plug built on and a long wire with it, pick it up monday, so will update then, thanks

when taking the sensor out from the rack i noticed that inside where the sensor goes have like scored out slots - like where the correct sensor should go.. then looking at thave above sensor with doulble black sides it has the grooves on it to fit in the rack ...

cant see any numbers or make on rack might be under it which i cant get to unless i take it off. i took out the angle sensor and can confirm its got a single vane - the piece of metal that goes past the sensor when you turn the wheel, im still thinking it might need that double black both sides ...

im thinking my rack needs this sensor?

just been reading too that there is 2 types of them sensors like mine, one is like mine which is black plastic one side and other side is clear, this was on my original rack, then there is a both black plastic sides one? which is for the twin vane racks? my old rack must have been a single vane ...

ive got the TRW pump as from the link to provided shows the dip stick same as mine, also the pics of the angle sensor in the link shows the trw sensor same as mine, the koyo looks completly different, mine has the brown plug with 3 wires in it and 2 screws holding it in the rack.. so the only thing ...

very interesting, so are you saying that my angle sensor has to match the pump make, does the rack matter what make has that is comunicating with anything is it? its just the sensor sending info to pump? i beleve in vcds i can remember something saying TRW is that the make of pump right? or would ...

could i need one of theses?

cool, i have also read that last night night funny enough, but how do i know what manufacturer my steering rack is without removing the rack ?
and would that have to have the same manufacturer as the angle sensor? and pump? anything else?? abs harness all look ok too..

ps check 50amp fuse and ...

only thing i noticed when i turned the wheel was the amps would go up? when fault light come on dash and gives a code in vcds couldnt clear it unless i switched engine off - then cleared it fine, the turning sterring wheel left or right fault light came on, wouldnt let me enter basic settings in ...
