I think it'll be easier replacing the gearbox oil on a ramp so I'll let him do it. It's got a slight blow on the exhaust so I need to look at that also. I'll have a look at the fuse box tomorrow hopefully it's just a blown fuse!

Cheers lorne I'm having my friend give the car a service tomorrow as he has access to a ramp and he's going to replace the gearbox fluid. Do you happen to know which fuse it is for the door mirrors? I don't have an owners manual so can't check.

some of you may have gathered I'm looking for a 1.9 tdi sport (in black hopefully). anyhow, I currently drive a passat 1.9tdi, so am hoping I will be used to the engine. what's the polo like handling wise with a heavy lump up front? Do you have a part number for it?

After having my anti-roll bar and bushes replaced at VW a few weeks ago, I'm still getting this clunking noise from the rear I've narrowed it down to either the wishbone bushes or sticking calipers

And me! They told me when it was serviced a couple of weeks ago it needed doing and quoted me £60!! No chance, I'll take it to my brother at BMW who will do it for £15

No. Unless they plug it into a diagnostics machine which may detect it but I very very much doubt they would go to the effort tbh.

Update to my on going problems with the suspension. Car went to VW today for a service and as part of there check up they noticed that the Anti-roll bar had SNAPPED!! :shock: The mechanic said the bar could fall out and dig into the tarmac and flip the car :lol: The car's still with them so I've go...

Mine went up £87 and I'm with Prudential. I wasn't going to tell them at first cos it's not something an insurance inspector would notice if the worse happened but I decided it's not worth the risk.
