Re: USB charging (GTI+)

Yea as above. The front two should charge and connect to car play. The rear two are charge only.

Re: The Great Tyre Debate

4 new tyres fitted yesterday.
Immediate difference is a big reduction in road noise and a softer ride.

Re: New VED rates from 01st April.

My dealer took the cost of the increase, I forget the specifics but they increased their deposit contribution to cover it.

Re: Dashcams

I’ll get some photos taken tonight after work. The rear has one output and the front has two outputs. The power cable runs around the headlining of the car down to the fuse box on the right. The second cable connects up to the rear view camera for power and data transfer, that runs along the left si...

Re: Dashcams

I’ve fitted a 2ch Lukas 790, hard wired. Easy to install have used them for a long while. The camera sits discreetly behind the rear view mirror. It’s a good price point, offers good image quality and can be customised easily. One thing to note on the polo though, you can’t mount the camera on the b...

Re: What options are worth the money?

If you can afford the DSG get it. I’ll never buy a manual again. LED headlights are awesome, get them. The reversing camera is worth it considering the minimal cost and the money you’ll save when you reverse in to a post and then wish you’d got it. On a car as small as a polo climate control is poin...

I’ll settle for watching some other wally doing it in a you tube video.... maybe I’m too sensible. My mate said only sensible people by a hot hatch with an auto box

Re: New mid range United spec

Yea... I smiled politely and agreed as the Mrs got all gushy over the thought of getting a factory built new model in a month or two. What I didn’t know is that it’s a model introduced to compliment some football championship (I know nothing, nothing at all about football). They’re expecting them to...

Re: The Great Tyre Debate

I've tried adjusting the arch liner but it still protrudes a alot so I'll get VW to sort that. Bought the PilotSport 4s, not in stock at Costco but I've ordered them. The Michelin offer ends tomorrow so I had to take the plunge or forget about it... The next offer is on Bridgestone tyres... I'm not...

Re: The Great Tyre Debate
I'm unfamiliar with Costco, what membership do you need to be able to buy them? The £80 discount is impressive
It’s about £30 a year, you can save big money on stuff in there but only if you know exactly what you’re going in there for. When I go on there a pint of milk costs me at ...

Re: The Great Tyre Debate

Costco offer an £80 discount on 4 tyres. Someone else has said it but they generally take care of the car and the wheels. The tech's issue with my car was specifically the space available inside the rear drivers arch, which strangely enough is exactly what MonkeyHanger was referring to. When I've go...

Re: The Great Tyre Debate

Given what everyone has said I decided to have a closer look at the car before I left for a work today. As MonkeyHangar says, the wheel liners protrude on both sides at the rear, with the drivers side being worse. I can barely get a single finger between the tyre as it sits at the minute. I’ll need ...
