My 2018 does this, just been into the dealers today for them to look at it they did a software update but its made no difference, have to wait for VW to issue a fix apparently.

I've fitted a resonator delete pipe to my 2018 non opf gti+, happy with the results and it now sounds a bit more like a gti. I was worried it would be too loud but its turned out great, seems to have more pops when coming off the accelerator
