Re: Gearboxes, gear oil, and levels
In the end, I made the following decision: I'm going to send my Liqui Moly oils back (I'll lose the postage). On LeBonCoin, a guy is selling a bottle of G052527A2 for 25 euros. . I'm going to get two more from Germany (55 euros/l), so I can fill the can properly and "reduce" the cost. Ah ...

There is also Valvoline 75W but I can not seem to find it. https://go.lupinsys.com/valvoline/harms/public/materials/8099bed3f3d2b76d93d69fa662189bf0-published/attachments_api/023eec7fe05fb24f1817b4db5a637b8b/search_api/Gear_Oil_75W-PI_Sheet.pdf ALSO, Motul Multi DCTF. Yeah, you may have an improvement, but you might not. Never know until you try it, will you risk it is the question? :pLe_Combattant wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 9:48 pm Since I'm running on Fuchs since the begening of 2023: no issue since.

Re: Left engine mount
Hi, I want to re-new my left engine mount. But the part number is confusing me. My car is CAYB with KFK 5sp manual. By VW etka my part number is: OE 6R0 199 555 ( correct me if i'm mistaken) I'm having a slight issue sourcing the part with that number ( 6R0 199 555 ) When I cross reference I see th...

Re: Gearboxes, gear oil, and levels
Could be also marketing. I mean, company, brand are capable to do everything/make promises to sell you their products. Also, on the Fuchs, you only have VW standards. What ever the case, I have 14 days in front of me to search before reaching the deadline of sending back Liqui Moly oil. Unfortunate...

Re: Gearboxes, gear oil, and levels
Okey, the PDF I had was from 2018 but the shape was different. No table with chemical composition. Man, it's a crazy story. I still have at home 3 brand new bottles of Fuchs Oil, and now 4 more bottle of Liqui Moly  What is better ? Viscosity or chemical composition ? On my side, gear change ...

Re: Gearboxes, gear oil, and levels
Maybe you are right. In the Fuchs document, where did you see the ester additive ? So on the other forum I linked, I was told it is an Ester and the code in the original VW datasheet, it is 01-2119493620-38. If you type this code into google, you will get the EC number 931-384-6, which is what is l...

Re: Gearboxes, gear oil, and levels
After a night of reflextion, I will stuck with Liqui Moly. lol, fair enough. hope it works out, I think the main additive for VW is ester. It is also present in the Fuchs oil, but it doesn't have it in the liqui moly, from what I can tell? REACH # 01-2119493620-38 EC 931-384-6 Could be an issue ? H...

Re: Gearboxes, gear oil, and levels
EDIT: Now I'm reconsidering my purchase. Liqui Moly or Wolf 75 FE ? Why are you reconsidering? The Liqui Moly is only recommended for VW it seems, whereas the Wolf is more rounded for other brands. Also, the formulations seem different. Liqui Moly is the brand I have heard of before, but never hear...

Re: Gearboxes, gear oil, and levels
I never tried with a vacuum but it's possible to remove more by removing some screws at the bottom. From the little cap at the bottom? I always wondered what that piece is, but the cost of the sealant for it is expensive if I am correct. Another thing is, it seems the original VW oil is not a pure ...

Re: Gearboxes, gear oil, and levels
I think yes. I ordered more bottle than required to "flush" the gearbox. Because of the s**t design, all oil can't be drained. So on the firt fill, I will drive the front wheels to "mixe" the oils and after drain the maxium I could and then, put new fresh oil. Ok that'll be nice...

Re: Gearboxes, gear oil, and levels
There are already 8 pages of forum posts on just gear oil so a few more wont hurt  Never ending story thanks to the viscosity and chemical mixture differences ! Makes it hard to choose an oil even when it meets the VW specs. I do not fancy spending £150 on 3l of original VW oil. I just ordered...

Re: Gearboxes, gear oil, and levels
Do people think additives or viscocity matters more?
e.g. - the Fuchs has the same additives / chemicals as the original oil, but is thicker.
The miller oils are thinner but not the same additives...
SOO, Opinions?
