Does anyone know what the cable is actually for on an early spec mk4 linkage? doesnt seem to do anything.

checked plugs they look normal. at the side on the carb i noticed two pipes that go through this bit on the left of the carb, they felt quite pressurised, are they meant to be like this?

my gauge was reading low, so i replaced the temp sender (black) and it was going up, was around the middle, the it just dropped, as if it wasnt even on. what do you think this could be? and how can i test to see if the gauge it working properly?

havent done anything to the carb, might check plugs tomorrow

i forgot to mention that the coolant is brown and i havent had chance to change it, as i havent had the car long

would the carb work on a coupe s?

it was the top metal hex plug on the side, and oil came out. ill check the cable tension tomorrow, how tight should it be?

i wouldnt say my pedal is too heavy but i havent got round to playing with clutch cable and when i opened the level plug on the gear box it came out

i think ill try adjusting the cable and checking the box oil

sometimes when i go into first gear it grinds with the clutch down, other times its fine. any ideas what this is?
