Hi guys, Was driving my mk4 1.4cl and as I went to turn a corner my steeri gn went very heavy and a loud whining noise appeared. You probably have the 75bhp version mate the 6n 1.4 16v were 100bhp as standard hence are fairly nippyPD wrote:eh? my 6n2 16v 1.4 doesnt feel quick - it is a 5door though.
The 6n2 had two versions of the 1.4 16v the 75bhp and 100bhp with the 100bhp being afairly rare model!Hope this helps!Cheers

First of all no chance would see me changing the entire engine for a gain of 20bhp. Your best bet IMO is get a upgraded manifold, induction kit and full exhaust system all that looks like costing you less than £500 and you would be looking at a gain of round about 10bhp bringing you up to a decent ...

Mate your best bet is to get an oil change and oil filter change hopefully should be an improvement.You can do this yourself easily. get the oil about 4 litres I cant remember how much I used but I used 2 bottles. take the screw out the sump, drain the oil. get the filter off.
