Steering problem :(

Hi guys, Was driving my mk4 1.4cl and as I went to turn a corner my steeri gn went very heavy and a loud whining noise appeared. Got to the garage and put in power steering fluid and steering went light again although the noise is still there loud as ever has anyone got any ideas what it could be? T...

You probably have the 75bhp version mate the 6n 1.4 16v were 100bhp as standard hence are fairly nippy

The 6n2 had two versions of the 1.4 16v the 75bhp and 100bhp with the 100bhp being afairly rare model!Hope this helps!Cheers

yeah there nippy wee cars, The ax gti has a 1.4 16 valve engine. 0-60 in just over 8 seconds and top speed of about 117mph. Very impressive for a 1.4! Have to remember thought the car weighs about 3 kilos!! Cheers

Dollyburd Look at the rear shocker and see if theres any wee grooves below where the spring is sitting might just be its been set on the higherst setting and you have to put the spring cap right down to the lowest setting? tell me how you got on!Cheers

First of all no chance would see me changing the entire engine for a gain of 20bhp. Your best bet IMO is get a upgraded manifold, induction kit and full exhaust system all that looks like costing you less than £500 and you would be looking at a gain of round about 10bhp bringing you up to a decent ...

Looks good mate saw it on clubpolo, liek the other people said thats not a 40mm drop. Thats a 60mm drop for sure looks good bet ur glad you didnt go for 40mm now 8) Cheers

past few days it's been hard to get reverse. this morning at 7.45 it decided to totally block reverse. so i had to push the blooming thing out the drive :lol: whilst i was at work a mechanic looked at it and i need a new clutch and gear box. so i have no car for tonight. get it back for tomor thoug...

Mate your best bet is to get an oil change and oil filter change hopefully should be an improvement.You can do this yourself easily. get the oil about 4 litres I cant remember how much I used but I used 2 bottles. take the screw out the sump, drain the oil. get the filter off.
