Another One Bites The Dust

http://www.adverts.ie/showproduct.php/product/1941/cat/2

I got offered a 2000 A4 Avant Quattro Sport 1.8T today and I decided to buy it, so the Polo's getting the heave-ho. I'll be sad when I sell it on, many times the sound of the variable cam kicking in has brought a smile to my face. Sadly I ...

I changed my clutch on the GTI at 64000. The Sachs kit was €150 off ECP and €240 in labour to fit it. World of a difference. I've put 4000 miles on it now.

I reckon this, coupled with one of those 50p resistor "wonder chips" and you'd easily have a GTI kicking out well over 400bhp. Add in a fake dump valve and you'll be eating 1000bhp Skylines for breakfast.

Bloody hell, a 51 car wouldn't even sell for 10 grand in Euros over here in Ireland.

The seller also has some Cliff Richard tickets for sale so you know they're not the full shilling :)

How do you lads find clearance on the Eibachs?

I drive over a couple of horrendous stretches of road on the way to work/college daily and I'd be constantly in fear of clouting the sump off the tarmac if I went too low.

In car barbeque? :)

Seriously though, I'd imagine it's got something to do with trapping fuel varpour.

1 Years Road Tax on a GTI in Ireland: €391.

That's abound £270-280. We don't go for all this sensible carbon nonsense, just a whole heap of grades based on CC, to a max of €1400 for over 3 litres.

Still, at least our petrol is cheaper :)

Great job.

I was looking at re-furbing the standard wheels on my GTI. I was quoted STG 125 + VAT per wheel from a crowd up the North (and then there's the cost of getting them there), so I'm looking at doing them myself because that's mad money.

I've read the Bstardchild guide here and reckon I ...

2000-3000? Common as muck then.

Over here in Ireland, I'd say there was less than 20 in the country, in fact I'd never seen one until I bought mine. Most people don't know the car exists and that I've bought some pikey ass eBay badges...

I whipped off the trim last weekend and had a good look around. All of the connections are solid and uncorroded and the pipe isn't leaking. Since putting the cover back on, the wiper's been working the whole time.

I think it's just doing it to spite me :)

Mines on the fritz as well. It usually works within a couple of minutes of starting up and then stops working.
