I have, in the past, added a home made immobiliser to my cars (old cars and not Polos) by interrupting the 12v feed to the HT coil and taking this to a switch which I hide in the car somewhere. If the switch is open, no 12 v to coil so no HT and the sparkplugs cannot spark. This ...
