Re: Fuel rail pressure low

You can hardly blame the car for the situation that petrol was put into a diesel engine. Any modern diesel engine would have died I don’t blame the car, it was me who made the mistake. I blame myself for buying a diesel car, I have always had petrol cars previously, I think you should stick with on...

Re: Fuel rail pressure low

Today I drove the car a few miles, the glow plug light started flashing and then the engine warning light came on. Ok, I got to the point of no return. On Monday I will go buy another car and ask the garage how best to dispose of this one. I paid £4500 for the car back in March this year, it has had...

Re: Fuel rail pressure low

When I put petrol in, I topped up the tank, I put in £20. I would have thought wouldn’t be as bad as neat petrol. So, worst case scenario is a new fuel pump ?

Thanks for the responses !!!

Re: Fuel rail pressure low

The car has had a new fuel filter, new injector. What else could need changing. It is running ok at the moment, just worried it will happen again.

Fuel rail pressure low

This morning I was driving my polo 1.2d 2011 when I found I was stuck behind a slow moving tractor. At the first safe opportunity I overtook the tractor, during this manoeuvre the glow plug light started flashing on the dashboard. It continued to flash and the engine seemed sluggish, I pulled over a...

Re: Starting problems

Well, the garage finally got to the bottom of my poor starting problem. Some idiot filled it up with petrol instead of diesel, I won’t be doing that again anytime soon. Thanks for your efforts, much appreciated.

Re: Starting problems

It certainly seems like there is no diesel, the engine turns for ages and then it’s like flicking on a switch it bursts into life. Also, when the car is stationary with the engine running, there is a build up of exhaust fumes inside the car.

Re: Starting problems

The injector seals have been replaced but it didn’t solve the problem. The garage don’t seem to have a clue, they have had the car since Friday, I rang today and they have sent for an auto electrician. I can’t believe it, I think I will get it back home and have a go myself.

Re: Starting problems

The garage rang to say, the only issue they can find is a leaking injector seal. They are going to change them and see how it goes. I did notice a slight diesel smell in the car recently.

I will keep you updated.

Re: Starting problems

Someone has suggested it could be the ECU relay. Does this sound logical ?

I do appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

Re: Starting problems

The battery seems fine, the engine flies over. There are no warning lights etc. I just went to it, it turned over for about 15 seconds without starting, I tried again and it started instantly. Runs lovely once it’s started.

Starting problems

This morning I went to start my car (2011 Polo 1.2Diesel) and it just kept turning over but took a while to start. Every time since, it’s exactly the same. Takes a good 20 seconds before starting. Yesterday it was fine ? Any ideas ???

Re: Bulb warning light but no bulbs are out?! HELP!!!

When I bought my polo the warning light was on suggesting a bulb had blown. On the drivers side rear cluster a tiny bulb had blown, nobody could see what it was supposed to illuminate. It was a tiny thing. I intend to take out each bulb in turn and rub a little Vaseline on the terminals just to make...
