Re: Stage 2 on a 1.0 tsi

Also personally I would not go beyond 150bhp so as to keep a certain amount of reliability and drivability. You may need a stage 1 clutch from somewhere like CG motorsports to cope with the power.

I know it isn’t very safe to push the little 1.0l past 150bhp but I’m hoping with all the right ...

Re: Stage 2 on a 1.0 tsi

Personally I’d be looking to change oil/filters every 6months/6k, also I would only use Shell V Power petrol for the cleaning properties. The last thing you want is the engine to go pop.
Racing line now do an official stage1+ remap and panel filter and turbo elbow for the 1.0tsi.

Yes the car is ...

Re: Stage 2 on a 1.0 tsi

@Jay11; agree, brakes should be upgraded. I think it would be worthwhile considering upgrading the suspension too if a stage 2 remap is going to give you a performance upgrade that isn’t far short of the GTI.

In terms of suspension are you referring to coilovers? In my original post I forgot ...

Re: Stage 2 on a 1.0 tsi

You’ve mentioned that this is your first car so I’m assuming you’re quite a young driver (apologies if I’ve assumed incorrectly!). In your position I’d be speaking to your insurance company before going ahead with your performance upgrades to ensure they’re happy to continue covering you and your ...

Re: Stage 2 on a 1.0 tsi

PS; I like your new wheels that you posted a picture of on your car in the ‘what did you and your Polo do today’ discussion thread. I also have a set of RC Design alloys on my GTI+; a set of 18” RC32 in ferric grey.

Thank you! I was also considering the RC32s, they’re a very nice set. Out of ...

Re: Stage 2 on a 1.0 tsi

Will the cooling system be up to the extra heat and need upgrading as well?

The custom intercooler and intake system would also have all the connecting pipes custom fabricated to work together for better/cooler airflow, I was under the assumption that this would be sufficient - are there other ...

Re: Stage 2 on a 1.0 tsi

I would like to tuning my polo 1.0 what is your opinion remap or power box? I don’t know where to do a remap and I’ve been watching the race chip boxes.
thanks.

Personally I’m not a fan of chip tuning boxes, from my research they mess with your ecu and there’s been many reports on the boxes ...

Stage 2 on a 1.0 tsi

Hi, so as you would’ve guessed from the title I’m crazy enough to be doing a stage 2 for my non-gti polo se 1.0 tsi. From my understanding it’s not been done in the UK before and I love the thought of having something unique. I know most people will tell me to just get the gti but I like the idea of ...

Re: What did you and your Polo do today?

New RC design 17 inch alloys & Eibach Pro-kit springs fitted. Much happier with the overall look and handling.
