Replacing both wing mirrors
Both my wing mirrors have now finally given way to bashing and need replacing. Driver's side is full size and the passenger one is stubby. They're both electrically adjustable. I'm looking to source the parts and have a go a fitting them myself. A few questions: * Can I get away with fitting MKIII m...

Re: Guide to changing Engine temperature sensor on Polo MKV 6n2
is this guide applicable for a 98 R reg 6N? Its similar, but take the instructions with a pinch of salt as the engines have a different layout mate. My 6N2 (Saloon) has the temp sensor on the bottom right of the engine. It can be hard to spot but essentially just follow the radiator hoses and where...

Re: Draining off
Just like to add that the GTI is slightly different to the one shown here. The actual sender is on the left hand side, with one of the rad pipes right next to it. No need to drain any of the system, just pull the horseshoe clip up, wrench it out and throw the new one in quick you'll probably lose a...

Re: Which Temperature Sensor?
depends on what mk polo you have? the 2nd green one is for the 6n2 model, i have no idea which the other i for If you go to Euro Car Parts you can put in your reg number (if you're not sure of your model, which I'm still not) and it will bring up both components with exactly the same description. I...

Which Temperature Sensor?
There are numerous threads that state a lot of "starting from hot/warm" problems can be solved by swapping out the temperature sensor/sender. I'm quite prepared to shell out a few quid for a new part and fit it myself. However for any given model Polo there appear to be two types of temp s...

Re: side lights
I can see where it should go (back of headlight cap removed) but do you really have to pull on the wires to get it out? Felt like I should twist it to release it but it only moves an eighth-turn... http://pberry.me.uk/photos/car/sidelight_1.jpeg Who'd have thought something so small could cause so m...

Irony is I went through a bad time with the pedalbox and cable so called AA out a few times. Got a few comments from them that it happens to their VW vans too. Do they call themselves out?

Re: Left Head Lamp. Recommendations please?
Halfords online will tell you which bulbs to fit. Enter your reg, ignore the fact that the DVLA obviously sell their data, and bob's your uncle. Going to swap out two indicators and headlamp in my lunch break right now. Something tells me I'll only get the headlamp done though. Indicators nice and ...

Definitely the pedal box reinforced first mate, once that's done it'll be able to handle to shoddy clutch. Although get that done as soon as you can. A decent weld on a pedal box will be able to hold out on a heavy clutch. A knackered weld won't hold out much longer on any clutch. New clutch in and...

One advice to those who still suffering from stock heavy clutch, change your clutch if your pedalbox is still in good shape. Cause the pedalbox won't break with lighter clutch. I was wondering which part was responsible. I assume, then, a stiff clutch will cause you to work the pedal harder w...

Tips for removing tree sap from bodywork
I've got what appears and smells to be pine sap all over the roof of my car. Anyone had this problem before? It won't come off even with a gentle scrub (you know, those green pads: about as abrasive as I dared). However I've only used standard car shampoo so far at standard dilution. Is there anythi...
