Here are some more pics for those who are interested... I am sad to see the Polo go but it just didn't seem to be running the same as it did way back when even after a decent service. Plus with the niggles such as cambelt looming a new clutch would've been on the cards at some point too and the fact...

I didn't go looking for a test drive just got offered to take it out if I wanted to so duly obliged! Don't think it matters about age as I'm only 22 myself. Comparing new to old is like chalk and cheese my 6N2 GTi is a totally different car then again being 6 years old nearly I wouldn't expect it to...

Just took a new GTi for a test drive
Earlier on today I went round to our local VW dealer (Gilbert Lawton, Altrincham) to have a look at a Beetle cabrio for the missus ended up eyeing up a sexy little black 3DR Polo GTi. Got talking to one of the guys there and took it out for a spin! First impressions were good but when parked up next...

Likewise an S3 would be ideal, nothing wrong with my Polo just as with every car I've had I get a 2 year itch and want something newer. Maybe the price on a second hand MK5 Golf GTI might drop to say £15k in the next twelve months? If I'm being offered £3700 to trade in now what am I likely to be ...

I may look into selling it privately stick it in at £5500 and see what repsonse I'd get, just seems £3700 for a decent car is a p*** take however saw it with my own eyes in the glass' guide at trade-in value. I've been tempted at getting an S3 but everyone I've seen seems to have a massive mileage...

Trade in value of GTI
Whats with the poor trade in value for a GTI? Been looking around either Cooper S or the Clio 182 round the £13k mark and only getting offers of £3700 thats with everything in tip top condition. My cars a 2000 (W) full VWSH, MOT til Nov, 37k miles on the clock, full leather btw.

Your best bet is probably the Supersprint back box, I have the full system and can't recommend it enough. Nice tone not loud and looks good. (Apologies for the poor camera phone pics, but thought they'd help). http://www.premieremortgages.co.uk/mark/Image(120)s.jpg http://www.premieremortgages.co.uk...
