Re: Noob - looking to buy a TDI

Watch out for the turbo on 100k+ cars, they do tend to start to go after this sort of mileage - although it's not the end of the world if they do. The weak point on the 9N is the suspension and the heater. Make sure the heater is blowing out the right temperature you're asking it for, and there are ...

Re: 4WD or RWD conversions

Re: fitting a six speed box on a pd 100?

i just do a lot of motorway driving and struggle to hit 50mpg at 70-75 just thought that sixth gear would hopefully make a change... Probably not. Even if your revs are lower it doesn't necessarily mean proportionally less fuel is used because engine efficiency comes in to play - they are different...

Re: fitting a six speed box on a pd 100?

do you really want to? I prefer the 5 speed - less porridge stirring and it makes 2nd very very quick. 1st and 2nd in the 6 speed are very short gears that usually spin up the traction control. Depends on your driving style I suppose, but it should be considered. 6th isn't that much longer in the 6 ...

Up to the dealer, if they have old stock.

I got some alloys for an old Polo brand new from VW too, selling them off at £25 each.
