S reg 1.9D polo revving problem

Hi guys i have been running a 1.9D polo for a few years and recently it has started to rev on its own accord usually when accelerating/deaccelerating. It usually over revs by about 200-500rpm and sometimes when i lift off at idle. Just wondering if anybody else has experienced any problems like this ...

The polo 1994-1999 has a 64BHP 1.9D Engine which is very mechanical and cant really be tuned via remaps. The polo from 2000> has a 1.9 SDI engine which can be remapped and would be a better choice however i think the 110/130 engine would be a bit better for a track car

Think they changed the law for this not so long ago... rear windows you can do what you want, windscreen not allowed to be tinted, and front side windows are a certain percentage.

Does anybody know how big a job it is to transfer central locking from a CL to an L? My friend is breaking a CL and has the fobs and i was thinking about taking the central locking. From what i gather i would need to take the motors / rods from behind the door cards, the loom and that thing from the ...

I replaced the speakers in my last mk4 with good cerwin vega ones but the standard headunit aint good and there wasnt much power being delivered so didn't really notice the difference. I think a new headunit+amp is needed for good sound because the standard vw speakers aren't really all that bad.

Easy Peasy if you've dismantled the front ends of both cars before and know how :) . I prefer the mk4 to the mk5 tbh, i feel the mk5 is a bit of a bodged face lift especially with the replacing of the headlight carry on!

Sounds like a sensor to me. This happened to my m8 and he had the same thing with the engine stalling when at idle. I think maybe idle sensor or something lol.

I'm going to do a xenon conversion to mine but a little confused. An H7 kit would be dipped only right? The Polo uses an H1? bulb for high beam. I see Bi-Xenon kits on ebay and im just curious as to how these work. Did you have any problems installing your H7 kit? What colour is the beam is it ...

I agree, depending on condition its a bargain! I sold a 1.9DL (V reg) one year ago with 40k on the clock for £2300 and it never had a scratch on it was mint. Now I wish i had never sold it
