aea engine code is spi, aee mpi. I think they changed over in late '96-ish.

Over the last 702.4 miles my 1.6 spi has averaged 42.7 mpg :D

I wonder what it would be ike with mpi/1.4 ratios?!

Are 1.3 engines slow 1.3's or fast 1.3's?? depends on how you define slow and compared to what other 1.3 and of course on how your driving style is. I myself was quite surprised on how "feisty" (if that's the correct spelling of the word :lol: ) the 1.3 is, even that it has only got 55 bh...

Slow but then my 1.6 isn't any faster flat out. The 1.3 will sit at 70mph all day long happily and feels nippy enough around town so it's not too bad. On the plus side the steering s more pleasant than the 1.6 as the engine is a fair few kilos lighter. To sum up I did 17000miles in my 1.3 over the l...

1.3 6ns while not being especially rare are not the most common model either as they were only available for twelve months or so before being superceeded by the 1400.
