Alternator and battery should hopefully be ok, they were replaced as part of a warranty repair that turned out to be caused by something else.
It just seemed sus that first one headlight went and then next day another.

Worried about the car's electrics, starting with the lights
I've had the odd bother with lights on the car, a fog light or a wing mirror indicator stopped working, the bulb wasn't blown but was replaced anyway and later on stopped working again.
Now it's the dipped beams, first one then the other went completely. Parking lights, main beam and front fog ...

What's just fallen off my car?
A sheet of metal that's now hanging below my exhaust silencer. A part of the car, part of the exhaust?

Re: 2011 Polo Match TDI tyre pressures
Thought that was where they were, at some time in the past mine had a replacement filler cap, no sticker.
Any chance you could take a picture of yours for me next time you're filling up?

Can't find them anywhere in the manual or on the car, what pressure should I use?

Problem with exterior lights going on me
Took the car to MOT yesterday, half an hour before leaving I realised I'd not checked the lights
All except the rear fog were working, I opened the rear cluster to see what kind of bulb was needed, put it back in place and suddenly the dead bulb light came on the dash.
I took it to the ...

Drum brakes on the rear, I'll mention that to the garage at the next MOT check up.

Re: Mirror heating not working.
Silly question, should there be heaters on both sides? I'm not sure the passenger side is clearing.

Hand brake sticks on when lever is depressed
The hand brake on my Polo has been sticking on a bit when the lever is depressed. It takes a little bit of a a nudge forward in 1st to get it unstuck.

Re: Least expensive way to get Bluetooth on an RCD310 stereo
I only want to be able to stream music, no need for phone calls.
Polo Driver -- since there is no reply and my suggestion may have been tried too but
310 has optional aux, so why dont you try lightning/usbc/aux to aux cable.
I noticed there's an aux connection in the car, which is great ...

Least expensive way to get Bluetooth on an RCD310 stereo
A swap for a better head unit is out of my price range, is there any way to add basic Bluetooth functionality to the RCD310 unit in my car? I only want to be able to stream music, no need for phone calls.

Re: 2011 1.2 TDI, unsure about the timing belt change interval
Yes. 210.000 km or ten years, or in case of visual wear.
Thanks, a fair bit of conflicting information out there, seems like a change should have been made at least once going by the age, but there's nothing about that in the service history I can see. They really should have said something ...

2011 1.2 TDI, unsure about the timing belt change interval
I'm a new owner of a 2011 1.2 TDI, 51k miles on the clock. A nice little car, I'd like to keep it that way, but the service schedule in the book is puzzling.
For a 1.2 TDI it quotes a "camshaft drive belt" replacement interval of 140k miles. I'm not that savvy about cars under the bonnet, just that ...
