Re: Ambient lighting

It was one of the first things I looked at to see if I could change it when I bought mine. The dealer confirmed that it's just the white setting.

On previous cars, I've set it to blue and left it. Would have been nice if they had continued it along the door rather than stopping after a few inches :)

Re: Automatic braking when reversing

ha ha

Yes the Brakes do apply...I know this as I was reversing into a hedge on a strange road and the brakes jammed themselves. I blame the idiot Amazon driver that blocked the turning circle.

It's a bit annoying isn't it and over sensitive. I have to keep braking now when reversing out of my ...

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?

Both the Isar and Malacca highways are due in Emden the next two days, so good chance one may be going the UK as they regularly do that run. It’s getting closer.

Have to say I can’t wait for my replacement. I’m enjoying my gti but the electrical issues have taken the shine of this one. If ...

Automatic braking when reversing

Hi everyone,
I'm up to 1k miles now and enjoying the car every time I drive it.

I have quite a tight longish drive between mine and next doors house to reverse in and out of. I'm finding it very easy with the polo, as I've usually had wider cars.
The problem is, if I don't apply the brakes while I ...

Re: Normal mode a big 'sluggish'

I'm sure it will be fine around the roundabouts with your top tips on how to get a bit more oomph if you need it :)

I found myself getting short of fuel the other day and stopped at an esso station and filled with the E5. So it's had a treat :D

I'm sure the exhaust is sounding nicer the more ...

Re: Normal mode a big 'sluggish'

I'm at around 800 miles now and enjoying the car more. I'm getting used to it and like AndyGTI suggested, if I need a bit more 'go', I have started popping the gearbox into sport and then back to D once i've got up a very steel hill or whenever I feel it needs a bit extra and it takes it out of 6th ...

Re: Normal mode a big 'sluggish'

Thanks chaps. I think that I will do the same regarding the fuel.

I prefer fabric to leather. I just had red leather massage seats in the s4 but i found the massage function too hard so didn't use it :D What a waste

Re: Normal mode a big 'sluggish'

I agree, I've always thought the engineers who make the car know more about the gearshift etc than me faffing with the paddles. I also can't be that bothered. I like the fact I don't have to change gear with the auto.
I've been out again today, trying to get past the 600 miles in case that makes a ...

Re: Normal mode a big 'sluggish'

Hi Andy
Thanks for your reply :) Yes it's quite a list I've had. I forgot the cupra ehybrid I had a few cars ago but that is definitely best forgotten :D
I never dared go for anything like the rs3 as I always worry about them being pinched. I've never raced around in the cars, I've bought them more ...

Re: Normal mode a big 'sluggish'

Good morning again,
Thank you both for your replies.

That's very interesting about it possibly loosening up at around 600 miles. I will let everyone know. I added quite a few miles driving it home from collection nearly a month ago so it hit 500 miles yesterday. That will probably be the most miles ...

Normal mode a big 'sluggish'

Good morning everyone,
This isn't a complaint, more of a question as to how other people are driving their gti models.

I bought a new Polo gti nearly a month ago with 7 miles on the clock. I only ever really 'plod' around in my cars, I'm old (51) and so quite sensible these days.
I have always had ...

Re: 2022 gti arriving soon i hope , extra security ?

I just took out GAP insurance on my new gti with motoreasy for £140 for 3 years return to invoice. I've been with them a while for other cars (15 cars in the past 6 years as I get bored, but hoping to keep this one a while) I asked Motoreasy if they could match the best quote I found on a compare ...

I haven't seen another new one either.
