Thanks Veteran for your reply,
I have ordered a windscreen wiper removal tool and will wait for it to arrive before I make another attempt
as I don't want to risk damaging the windscreen.
It should arrive in the next week or so. I will post back when
I have had another go. I just hope it doesn't ...

Re: Front wiper arms removal - rainwater leak drivers footwell
Thanks,
I have ordered a similar tool and I am waiting for delivery.
It is just when I tried to remove them by hand they would not budge at all.
It made me think that maybe there was a notch or something in the wiper motor spindle that had
to be aligned on the 6r.
When the tool arrives I'll try ...

Front wiper arms removal - rainwater leak drivers footwell
I have another issue with my polo 1.2 sel.
Over new year I have found a rainwater leak in the drivers footwell. Carpets and insulation are soaking wet.
I have pulled back the carpet and found a water leak through the bulkhead. Definitely not door seal or window.
Pouring water into the scutle panel ...

Re: Wishbone bushes need replacing
Just to clear up any confusion the bushes I was talking about are the rear bushes on the front wishbones. They are the large diameter bushes that are fitted horizontally.

Re: Wishbone bushes need replacing
Thanks Cheba,
I have seen a video on youtube where a guy recommends Audi TT bushes but that was for a Golf and I was not sure
they would fit a Polo. Thanks for the part number.

Wishbone bushes need replacing
Hi Everyone,
I bought a 2014 1.2 tsi 110hp SEL back in the spring. I have just taken it for the MOT and as an advisory they say both of the rear bushings on the front wishbones are beginning to split.
They probably will need replacing soon. I have read a couple of other threads on here where other ...

Re: 6n1 wishbones/anti roll bar
Sorry peeps,
Just been out to check under the car
and the anti roll bar drop link connects via a bush through a bolt hole in the top of the wishbone and not to a plate on the side.
So they are the right ones.
Think I got a bit confused after watching Bodgit and leggit on youtube.

Hi Everyone
Just had my 1996 polo 1.6 6n1 fail MOT on worn wishbone bushes.
I am going to replace them myself and the ball joints too on both sides.
Ordered the following from gsf which are supposed to be the correct ones for my make and model.

Erratic idle causing MOT fail
My 1.6 has failed It's MOT cause the idle is all over the place
which means they can't hook it up to the emissions tester.
Have taken the throttle body off and given it a good clean, which
means it is now idling anywhere between 800 and 2500 rpm.
Tried resetting ECU by disconnecting the battery ...

weird noise whilst ignition is on
All the time the ignition is on there is a weird alarm/buzzer like noise coming from the engine compartment. Opened the bonnet and removed the air filter and tried to trace where the noise is coming from, and it is definetly coming from the top rear of the engine or possibly from the back of the ...

Faulty temperature sensor
Hi
Does anyone know the VW part number for the coolant temperature sensor on a Polo 6n 1.6i.
The temperature gauge hasn't worked since I bought the car a month a go.
I've traced the problem to the temperature sensor as when you earth the yelllow/red wire in the temp sensor plug, the gauge moves ...
