Re: ABS-light comes on and off
... Hi, here is my car´s version of the ABS light "saga" : Usually, at mornings it illuminates. I can always put it off by turning the ignition of once, but the car must be moving (the trick doesn´ t work at standing still). the "light off" lasts through entire however long drive...

Re: Question: 1.0 37kW warm/hot vs cold Engine
The throttle body seems OK and clean inside ( treated it with TB cleaner aerosol, though, as i had bought it already anyway). I discovered that the fwd brakes sometimes lightly jammed after some drive in town - cleaned and lubricated them with brake lube (will get to them more deeply at some point) ...

Re: Valver on the loose - brought back from the dead.
How can one remove the MAP sensor (036 906 051) for cleaning ? I mean - i disconnected the connector, undid those two tx20, got the black plastic hosing moving, but can´t pull it out from the throttle body ´s aft housing. did not dare to apply too much force ...

Re: 6n1 - 6n2 compatibly
Thanks ! I also think they are the same - very similar in looks , but much more often the Golf model is designated than Polo, suitability wise (even the Seat models are more mentioned). Time to find out for 14 euros

Re: 6n1 - 6n2 compatibly
JUUL - you have taken these cars quite down to atoms and perhaps you can guess - would that lock suit 1999 5D 6N1 tailgate for central locking ability project ( link below ) ? My car has manual locking cylinder and it looks mechanically impossible to rebuild it to work independently to get locked/un...

Re: Question: 1.0 37kW warm/hot vs cold Engine
... I think I am going nuts :D The car drives me crazy. While not yet totally warmed up, it goes like a small angry wasp. After the temp pointer positiones exactly vertical, it tends to get lazy - weakening dynamics on low rpm ( takeoff ); somewhere between 2300 and 3200 those weird gently perceptib...

Re: 1999 Polo central locking - electric instead vacuum ?
...Normally all Polo's 6N1 are fitted with pneumatic locking. ....[/url] ... Some "research", meanwhile : Mine might have come without any, from factory. It may have been someone just got/installed the aftermatket elec C.Locking kit , but ran to wall with the tailgate actuator installatio...

Question: 1.0 37kW warm/hot vs cold Engine
Hi, I have questions about 1999 AER 1.0 37kW 5D 6N1 (which I firstly got as a temporary replacement car, but am actually starting to like it much, specially at city rides - thinking of getting it totally fixed and refreshed step buy step) warm/hot vs cold engine : It starts very well and after some ...

Re: 1999 Polo central locking - electric instead vacuum ?
... Anybody to share knowledge, pictures, info, about possibilities/how to install this (pic in previous post) universal type elec motor actuator into hatch lock (5D, 3D models) ? Even pics/video about the vacuum operated factory solution would be helpful, i guess...

Thanks - this is a super cool link ! Yes - mine has got the electrically operating centr. locking system (It is the "Joker" model - meant only for German inner marked as i have read: 1.0 AER, manually operated windows, key operated door locks (on both fwd doors, locking fuel cap, every loc...

1999 Polo central locking - electric instead vacuum ?
Hi, Can someone tell - were there two different central locking systems fitted to 6N1 from factory - vacuum and also electric ? Were some (even 5D-s) totally manually locking, from factory? Mine is a 1999 1.0 37kw/50PS AER 5D with electric doors locks . The problem is, that there is no actuator pres...
