once your above 40-50mph the bay is full of cold air anyway so it doesn really matter where it goes, but as tim says its the length, and if you want a good sounds behind the battery is good as it resonates in the wing!

to be honest i dont think you can beat the halfords 4 year guarantee, so think i will go with them as i dont plan on keeping the car 4 more years
