I have tried both keys still getting same problem yes engine starts then dies.

Hi I have a 2005 VW polo starts then immediately shuts down after a few seconds, immobiliser light is flashing on dashboard, have tried keeping key in ignition for up to 30 mins, connecting positive & negative terminals together, tried charging battery. No fault codes seen on diagnostics reader....
