Just so if anyone else is looking for the same thing, it was located behind the main infotainment display screen right up under the top of the dashboard.
I found the location in the inline workshop manuals found in links on this forum.

SOS module battery replacement
Hi, I've just replaced the backup battery in my wife's SOS module in her Polo and I'm wondering how to clear the fault, I've tried to clear the faults with my OBDEleven module but they will not clear. The battery status says normal with a charge of 91%.

Hi,
My Wife's 2021 Polo Match has got an erro messeage popping up about the SOS module.
I put OBDEleven onto it and discovered the telematics ECU had two error codes: -
B1916F2 - Backup battery flat
