Re: EA211 Oil Catch can
I have thought about this also and had the walnut blasting done on my car 35k miles ago. There are a few different oil catch cans that a UK VAG Performance parts store sells. Not sure how they compare to others in this thread?
They vary in size and relative weight, and also in the inlet size ...

Re: EA211 Oil Catch can
These new engines leave a love-hate feeling. When you connect any scanner, you get the SFD lock, which supposedly requires payment to a website that releases a code for "24 hours." It's all very shady. The search for cars older than 2008 is becoming increasingly common here. Even at the dealership ...

Re: EA211 Oil Catch can
@2226 Thank you so much for your help.
Me? lol. You must mean Le_Combattant. He got the ball rolling.
I still have to do mine and it looks like it's going to be a very very long time before I do it.
Le_Combattant is an example of struggle and perseverance; many of us have to ...

Re: EA211 Oil Catch can
Clean job. Well done.
Would love to see how much it accumulates over time.
@2226 Thank you so much for your help.
Without this post, I wouldn't have been encouraged to do it.
I cut about a meter off each of the two 1/2-inch pipes so there wouldn't be so much pipe lying on top of the engine ...

Re: EA211 Oil Catch can
Reporting an update here to show that the 1/2-inch hose fits into the PCV valve fitting at both ends. You can remove the factory plastic from the new hose; it goes in with a lot of effort, but it does go in eventually. This allows for more flexibility in the 1/2-inch hose, making it easier to ...

Re: EA211 Oil Catch can
Hi, here I am after the oil catch can arrived. I'm showing photos of the condition of the cut PCV pipe and its measurements. I can now say that the task is finished, but I don't have results from the sensor yet. Later I'll post a photo to see if it's actually collecting oil, but for now I can show ...

Re: EA211 Oil Catch can
It's great that we still have someone interested here. I requested two options, but I have doubts about the diameters of the hose fittings and their sizes to know which one would fit best. When I get the oil catchers, I'll keep you updated on which one best fits the hose diameters I need and the ...

Re: EA211 Oil Catch can
Hello, here to continue this project that's been somewhat neglected. I received the PCV hose for the turbo side, but in this case, it's for a 1.0 TSI DHSC. In the next few hours, I'm going to cut this hose to make the necessary adaptations for the oil catch can, but I'm missing the catch can ...
