ground clearance should be 97mm on the coupe and 105mm on the square backs i believe. i have an Fk kit on my GT only problem was i needed new top mounts at the front as the thread was wider then the standard suspension, these were eventually provided for free, but took more then a while

sounds very similar to a problem i had with my gt but that would cut out and then wouldn't start. turned out to be a faulty temp gauge was cutting the engine when it got "too hot"

because vw designed the car with the engine in front of the front axle line hence front engined front wheel drive, most of the weight being over the front wheels by removing this and placing it else where changes the dynamics of the car dramatically especially during weight transfer.

it is gona be rear wheel drive, when i said anything bigger would leave little front end grip i was talking bout the steering not the drive, it would have horrible understeer and thats why i wanted to keep the engine small.

im not bothered about the amount of work because its putting the engine where i want it and the G40 because it belongs in a polo, nething else would be too heavy, and i'd struggle with front end grip. The PY has good power to weight and good power per litre ,seems perfect to me
