1980 MK1 Polo 'L' 43K FSH MOT & TAXED, Yellow 895cc ALL

Here I have my much beloved 1980 MK1 Polo L (895cc)

It is completely unmodified, has never been resprayed and is completely 100% original in every single way.

I was given this by my elderly neighbour in 2005, who owned it since new, it was only used as a grocery car for his wife over 25 years and ...

She'll be as reliable as she's been driven & treated, I think you could very quickly get rid of her for £500-£600, more if you have FSH.

For what little effort is involved I would get the car yourself and wet & dry the rust, fill it, Ku-Rust it & keep it yourself.

If it's a genuine 32K on the ...

MK1 1.1GLS

Been looking for a new project and a MK1 1.1GLS has popped up, no tax, no mot, all it needs is a new ignition barrel.

You think it's worth it - I've not dealt with the ignition before, if I couldn't do it myself how much do you think it would cost to fit a new one if i get hold of one?

Just brought a car for my lil-bro same as your's except its got FSH & 44K on the clock. didn'y pay anywhere near 400 notes for it. - I would have happily paid £600-700 as it is in mint condition - and i mean floorless.

MK2's are not worth a huge amount of money, MK1s maybe, MK3s - if they are the ...

I owned a MK1 Polo, MK2 Polo then i brought my self a MK1 Golf GTI 2.0 Litre 8V.

If it was a MK1 polo in good nick i would say go for it, i wouldn't touch a MK2 Polo again with a barge pole (no offence intended) after the Mk1 Polo i just found the MK2 to be ugly, electrically s**t, not much ooomph ...

Fitting the waterpump is easy as pie really, getting to it is another matter.

I personally would pay someone to do it, you'll pay about £30 labour max.

I paid £40 to have mine fitted and the carb cleaned and a cambelt put on.. (£40 labour)

lol two subs in the boot of an MK2 ... nice

You just need to secure it better, or limit it to one sub, as the boot doesnt have a big enough air volume to use two subs properly..

When i brought my MK2 it had a self tinting job done on the rear window over the window heating stripes, it had been there for about 4 years and i pealed it off without any problems at all.

Also, i must tell you that having tried tinting myself, i would spend the £130 for it to be done ...
