Re: Misfire

When you leave my missus polo (1.4) idling for around 1 minute is starts to misfire. When you switch the car off for a minutes or so it starts running ok but the emmissions light stays on. Got the RAC dude to come round and he plugged his computer in and it said it was cylinder 1. he swapped the ...

Re: Waste of money

The VW Warranty is a complete farce. I've had 2 extended warranties on VWs in the past and they are not worth the paper they are written on. Nothing seems to be covered and if it is they get out of it using the `fair wear and tear' policy. Mine runs out end of this month and have been quoted £560 ...

I read this

http://www.autoprotection.com/wear/

let me get this right. This then means that steering components have to wear down till they break. A major cause of accidents.

i work for vw and its very good as long as something breaks not wear and tear

It does not say this on the website. It just says that parts are covered, but mentions specifically that the engine is subject to natural wear and this cannot be covered.

"The car's performance gradually reduces as ...

No i've not had much bother with my seats, think one spring might be trying to make a break for freedom, but nothing too major.

I've done 42,000 on mine.

Spring started coming through at 53,000. Isn't this dangerous ? it ought to be under warranty. Not that i know much about crashes but it ...

9n seats wear quickly

9n seats aint too great. The plastic on the right shoulder side is wearing (drivers) and one of the wires from the seat springs came through the seat. (I am 12 stone).

Recommending airbag friendly seat covers at about 40,000 miles. I see VW upgraded the seat fabric on newer polo.

Watch out for Qwik fit. They cut the indicator wire when fitting brake pads. £250 for a VW replacement (whole loom).

What are your experiences with VW warranty ?

Dealer warranty is coming to an end and the bill is come in from "mondial", VW and Audi's warranty people. Which is £300 per annum. Steep (but cheap in comparison to their prices for 4*4 at £1600). According to the VW website you now get "home" roadside assistance, which was previously not ...

How long do servicable items last ?

Due to fuel crisis, traded my cally v6 against a two year old polo 9n last august through family which had 45,000 on it. Mainly out of city business driven miles, put another 12,000 on it mainly city use.

Previousy i had always bought old sports, fixing them with scrap parts, serviced myself etc ...
