Re: New Brakes Required - Discs & Pads

I've been really happy with my Lockheed 280mm discs and Ferrodo DS Performance Pads. Only thing is the brake dust from these pads is red. I quite like it, others may not though.

A full tank of V-Power for £5

Hi, The best thing that has ever happened to me at a petrol station happened today. I went to put £5 of V-Power into my GTI at my local Shell. And after I stopped the pump at £5, petrol continued to come out with the handle released, and the litre/price counter stayed at £5. Needless to say I filled...

Re: Whiring noise when changing gear (96-6N)

strange whiring noise when changing gear. It doesn't go away when changing gear at a different RPM Sounds to me like that could be the clutch release bearings. Does the noise start from when you press the clutch and continue until your back in gear and off the clutch. Or can you hear whirring/whini...

Hate to state the obvious but... You do get what you pay for. BMC is a successful company with many racing applications. Their products are engineered to high standards and very widely used. As for the one in your link, well it looks like a cheap chinese copy to me. Ive no doubt the BMC will be bett...

I talked about coilover brands recently with the guys at Awesome GTI, I told them I didnt want any cheap crap and also didnt want to pay any premium prices. They said that FK make good coilovers at a reasonable price (£375-400).

Forgot to mention the solid flwheel and the uprated clutch too. The idea is to do this once and basically get a 'new' car at the end of it. I had toyed with the idea of just getting the absolute minium done to get the 1.8T in there but I've convinced myself that, that would be a false economy. Brake...

For 10k from JBS or Awesome, I would get all parts supplied with 12 mth warranty, audi s3 engine cleaned/refurbed, motorsport ecu, custom downpipe, custom 2.75 inch exhaust, k03s or k04 turbo, custom intercooler, samco hoses, FK coilovers, 02a gearbox. They said that if I got my own engine i wouldnt...

I've been well pleased with my Toyo T1-R's, I dont consider them to be wearing too fast at all. Also they are pretty reasonably priced.

Before the Toyo's I had Dunlop Sp's and they were awful :(

My original plan was to drop in a 225bhp s3 engine, although I may now opt for a 180 golf engine instead.

Alot of the details are still up in the air atm :?

Tegwin regarding the 'flopiness' of the 6n2 would a set of strut braces not help sort this out? mk4 glx 1.6 I know I could buy something fun within my budget but whatever I buy im gonna want to modify, new wheels, lowering, air-filter, and probably exhaust for starters and that is all more money.......
