... I'm the ONE who bought that car! I called her as soon as it appeared and bought it the next day (was a Thursday).

It wasnt so much of a bargain though as I had to pay £2900 for it as ...

Great thread guys (and the original thread too). I've just recently bought a MKV Polo in 1.4 16V (75) guise. It has central locking and I only got one key with it. What I want to know is, was remote central locking an optional extra on the 16V 75bhp?

Sorry to hijack, but its along the same topic. Just got a MK5 Polo recently, and its a SE. Got speakers at the back but none at the front. Can anyone tell me what size the speakers are? Thinking of putting some Kenwoods or Alpines in there. Is the wiring already there or will I need to feed it ...

Kinda like the VW badge at the front so will stick with the GTI Honeycomb grille. Did the the same with my Golf.

Just got paid today, oh dear I can see the grille and pedals being bought already hahaha. Also likeing the look of the Xenon lights! How much would a set of those set me back?

Anyone ...

Is your Match a 60bhp though? Sorry, it may just be me and I may b mistaken, but I thought the Match was only in 60bhp guise? Certainly was the case when I was car hunting. If it is, I know what you mean as I did test the 1.4MPI engine and it was sluggish.

Hey thanks for the reply and help.

Cant believe how cheap the GTI honeycomb grille is but Im thinking about it as I dont really want to pass myself off as a GTI when its not one. Two minds. Guess I could always debadge the 1.4 bit hahah. I also like the red line around the honeycomb grille to make ...

Hi Marcman, ditto, I just mine on Saturday :)

Mine seems OK and quite nifty but tbh it does seems sluggish at times esp in the higher gears. I find myself having to go down a gear or 2 whenever I slow down in fifth to gain any power back. Off the mark, it seems perfectly adequete and quite nippy ...

New 1.4SE Owner :)

Hi all,

newbie here after purchasing a Polo 1.4 16V SE. Bought a a 2000 W Reg for £2900 with 50K on the clock with full VWSH. Hope this is a OK price to pay for the car as it seem to have most of the toys (electrics, alloys, fogs, air con etc) on it and was in good nick.

Got a few questions I ...
