  Since my pedal-box recall I have had occassional trouble engaging first and second gears and reversing has been with a degree of gear crunching. Took the car to the dealers who made some 'adjustments'. Problem solved......or so I thought...... Gear change was brilliant for first 10-15 mi...

I know the noise you mean when the AC pump kicks in - that still happens as normal. And the AC still seems to work as normal (hot and cold air). But, its the slight noise its making when switched on - which it never normally does - and the regularity with the radiator fan kicking in which is also pa...

A/C Climatronic Compressor Faults

 I have a problem. With Climatronic on i get a faint noise (similar to the steering on full lock) coming from the engine and my radiator fan keeps cutting in every couple of 45 seconds to one minute. Even with the engine relatively cold. When I switch the Climatronic off, no noise, and the radi...

Climatronic Heater & Footwell Flap Motors

Been whinging about the amount of condensation and misting inside my (out of warranty) GTi in wet weather for a while, and got the dealers to check it out when I took it in for its service. They diagnosed that a new heater flap motor and new floorwell flap motor is needed. They also gave me an estim...

Hi Sputnik - I have exactly the same issue with my GTI, and also never had such a problem with my previous Polo 6n 1.4. For me, its not so much the cold weather....but a real problem on very wet days when I use the car on more than one occassion, i.e. where the car warms up, then cools down, then wa...

Hi - a couple of months after purchasing my used 6n 2000 registered (1.4 75bhp) I had real problems with squeaky brakes which became progressively worse. After numerous trips to the dealership, and a couple of 'de-glazing' episodes, the squeaks were still there and getting worse again, so in the end...

Any Advice.....What next????

Hi all - my first post on here! Bought a MkV 5 door 1.4 (75bhp) Polo about 2 years ago. I wanted something that was safe, economical, reliable, looked good etc etc. as i used to commute to work. I really enjoy owning and driving the car - however, I no longer need to commute to work as i have a job ...
