Re: Multi function display what is your preference?
Engine oil until it's up to temperature. Then live fuel economy. Sometimes the goal is to get the mpg as low as possible...

Re: TomTom solution
I run tomtom on my phone all the time - their traffic data is much more accurate than google's.
but, tomtom will die within the next few years unless they can get it onto Android Auto or CarPlay. Too many people won't look further than what's already in the car.

Re: Drivers door seal worn through
I've just encountered this. Bought the car with - oddly enough - 25k on it and within two months of me taking possession the driver's door seal is worn through over a six inch length exactly where you'd rub it when getting out the car. I've NEVER encountered this on any car before. Consider me unimp...

Re: App Connect
Yeah, the part is just for the bit in the glovebox. I had thought it would just be a case of somehow finding the right code from this list and adding it to the vehicle, somehow! http://vag-codes.info/files/options/vag-option-codes.pdf I had heard of features being added just through coding. Seems a ...

Re: App Connect
Ah, so I can get a second hand 3Q0035874A (which seems to have app-connect in it already...) off ebay and get my local specialist to code it in then... Spoke to them - they were a bit hesitant but one of their branches has a guy who's more into this stuff so I guess it's a £200+labour gamble, then. ...

Re: App Connect
If you replace in the "head unit" in the glovebox, does it need coding into the car? Is this why you didn't get audio from the speakers?
Thanks!

Let's see, in the time since I last saw some of these names, I've gone: Polo > Smart Roadster > Lupo GTI (still got it!) > Fabia VRS. They might not be getting bigger, but they are getting faster!
What are you getting next?

Re: Considering a Fabia VRS...some help?
55k is nothing on that car. I've done 35k in 18 months and will (have to) continue to pile the miles on at that rate. I've had a few niggles but nothing unexpected from my 9N days... It did once stick me in limp mode due to a failed crank position sensor. Btw - most of my youtube channel is taken fr...
