Re: Things to look for when buying...

The 3 cylinder is a little noisy. A lot of noise and not a great deal of grunt

Depends if you would class the noise as excessive or not.

Re: 1.9tdi abs problems - no start.

Have you had the compression tested? Have you had the injectors removed to see if fuel is actually coming down the lines? Is there damag...

Re: DSG Oil Change

All DSG gearboxes require regular oil changes. What the specialist told you is incorrect. The interval is indeed 40k Miles.

The oil is quite expensive plus it’s around an hours work hence the cost.

Re: 1.4 8v stalls while driving? fuel? air?

Its located on the back of the block underneath the starter motor. Its somewhat difficult to access and the allen bolt that holds it in is delicate.

Its either an underneath access job, or you take off the inlet manifold and do it from above.

Re: No Keys!!

You’ll need new keys, barrels, immobiliser and coil reader to uses different set of keys :) To get VW to just make new keys and program them might be easier though. Its alot of effort switching it all over. Should be about £250-£300 max for new keys all done. You wont be able to start it without hav...

Re: Battery going flat Twice in fortnight

14.2 is absolutely fine

The cd changer running when the car starts is also normal

You need to do a leakage test with a multimeter

Re: 1.0 MPI new oil leak

You might be able to see it from underneath with a torch and mirror

To access it it’s normally a case of take the inlet manifold off for proper access
