Re: How to fix the 6N2 ABS Signal Outside Specifications Fault

I’d say you more than likely have an internal break in the ABS wiring that feeds that sensor so you won’t see it. I’d replace the loom that goes through the wing to rule it out

Re: How to change Selector shaft oil seal, on a 6n2

Its quite as easy task. You need to be ever so careful not to scratch the selector shaft though and youll need a deep socket to seat the new seal home

Haynes has a good write up in the manual

Re: Head gasket failure ?

AVY was a modded block for emissions compliance. Ultimately they are interchangeable

It is sounding more and more like a warped head. Very odd

I would look into getting the existing box rebuilt also, it might workout cheaper.

Where are you located?

Re: Polo 1.0 Gearbox Part Number (6N i think)

You shoudl be able to use then a CWN or CWS or CWT

CWN is preferable as that is what is fitted

Re: MOT fail (position/fog lamp, brakes, emissions)

Very strange. If you replace it, go genuine only. Aftermarket cats are just rubbish. One from a lower mileage used car would be better

Re: High fuel consumption and strange idle

Welcome

Have you replaced the sparks, leads and dizzy cap? These can cause strange running at normal operating temperatures. The fact you have replaced the TB already is good though was it adapted properly with VCDS/Vag-Com?

Equally, when was the last time it had a fuel filter change?

Re: Show me your head unit

Its easy enough to fit. The dab aerial is the most fiddly part as it has to be fitted in a certain manner

I can guide you through it fairly easily. Just need to be comfortable with a few wires to connect and some trims to remove

Re: Show me your head unit

Ive had a few different ones

Currently got a Pioneer SPH-DA130DAB. Had a SPH-DA120 before that. Both are excellent, the 130 just has DAB and a better interface with buttons rather than touch panel

If you want to use the radio, youll need to plug the aerial into the back of the unit.

Re: Polo 1.0 Gearbox Part Number (6N i think)

Genuine VW gearbox oil would be my first recommendation. Itll be 75W90. Castrol SynTrans is very good, as are the Febi alternatives.

Re: Polo 1.0 Gearbox Part Number (6N i think)

The easiest test fix would be to have the gearbox oil changed. If that doesnt fix it, then unfortunately its either a gearbox rebuild or replacement
