Need your engine code, year and manual or automatic gearbox (if you have the code, even better)

The codes are on the sticker underneath the boot carpet and in the service schedule first page - pop a photo up

Pop a photo up of your car. I need to check what series it is as it says you are in London as the 6N GTI wasn’t sold here. Only the 6N2

You need to replace the entire coolant sensor housing and the thermostat housing too

It all locates within a housing and over time it breaks down inside so there’s nothing for it to locate against

That’s not normal

Did you have the thermostat housing changed also? If they break the pin gets jammed and forces the thermostat to stay stuck open

Likely broken microswitches in the door locks - youll know because the cabin light wont work automatically when opening the door

If it goes when the clutch is down, its more thank likely the gearbox as above

Thats right - list price is circa £60 on trade from what I checked It does, but its definitely a cut through as mine as almost identical from a nearby cover rubbing against it I would just replace the affected hose with a new section of vacuum hose of the same internal diameter. I had a 1.4 TDI previously and exactly the same problem occurred. Ill dig out a photo of how the pipe should look. Watch this space
