If I may make a comment to clarify the picture of the relay above.
The symbol on that relay is only a resistor fitted to stop any large voltage spikes across the coil.
The rectangular box is an alternative to the usual wavy line symbol for a resistor.

I have just purchased a new single DIN "Volkswagen Individual Radiosystem MP3" (basically the Becker Monza but with the VW softtouch finish and blue and red illumination).
