If you leave them unlaquered you can only use them in the summer (or when the roads aren't salted), or they'll get corroded pretty quickly. The benefit of doing this is that you can polish them up to a good shine every couple of weeks using autosol, or similar. If you laquer them, you can run them a...

My gearbox is about to also be replaced. Do a search on yell.com for gearbox, you should get a few local companies who will recondition your old box. Ace gearboxes quoted me £480 all in for a replacement box (includes delivery and pickup of my old box). The local place said they'd strip the interna...

Before upgrading your speakers try putting in a decent headunit. I put in a kenwood headunit (replaced the standard VW job) and even with standard speakers, it goes as loud as you could possibly want without breaking up. The only thing lacking is proper bass which I'd need a sub to fix but can't aff...

I'm seriously sceptical about this sort of stuff. One of my best mates dad, who was also a mechanic for 30 years says this type of stuff is a waste of cash. If your fuel injectors really need cleaned then you get dirt cheap carb cleaner that does the same job for about £2. On the other hand, a frie...

Doing 130mph in a car means certain death if it goes wrong. And things can go wrong very quickly at those speeds, no matter how good a driver you think you are. I lost my brother only a few months ago to a road accident, he was only 23. It's all great fun until something like that happens and you he...

What 95/98 means is that 95 is the minimum recommended but 98 also is fine. A higher octane rating isn't going to have any difference on a 125 bhp, naturally aspirated car. You're paying 10% more for a fuel that's biggest difference is pyschological. The bulls*t about cleaner engines, higher MPG, ev...
