Re: How can I fix this?
If you can live without your car maybe bite the bullet as this is spoiling your ownership of what could be a good car - and the VW warranty clock is ticking away, and after that they will not be too interested in helping you out.

Re: How can I fix this?
More expense, but this is where VCDS comes into its own, if you had VCDS, you could or should scan the car and save the results - okay VW Group workshops claim that VCDS is complete junk and can't be trusted - taking that false view suits their workshops very well, but at least it lets you see a tre...

Re: How can I fix this?
Yes, you do seem to have been caught in a trap in as much as if you want to risk that the car's warranty covers this repair, then you must suffer your VW dealership's initial costs to diagnose. Going down the VAG Indie route could end up being cheaper - but if something costly is the root cause then...

Re: Rear Axle beam has snapped
Oh thanks. I suppose I could fit a disc brake axle but would probably end up needing new discs and pads, plus a recode for ABS. Yes, I like having rear discs as for me they are easier to service, but, and there is a big "but", VW Group always use aluminium alloy callipers for rear "d...

Re: Rear Axle beam has snapped
Yes, your probably correct to source a cleaner one, rear brake type version would be easiest. Maybe do a bit of homework across the Skoda Fabia, SEAT Ibiza and VW Polo cars using this online parts cat:- https://ifinterface.com/page/page3.php?langid=2 It is free to use and seems to hand over good par...

Re: Rear Axle beam has snapped
I would have thought that a proper blacksmith/metal fabricator could sort that out quite easily.

Re: parasitic battery drain
If you have not needed to chase a drain before, maybe try to be able to dismiss the easy ones first, if time allows, and chasing these sorts of drains can use a lot of time up. Disconnect the battery to make sure that it can retain its charge level when in isolation as it could have a shortish circu...

Re: DAB Radio Issue
I didn't think that there was any implied connection between the AC being short of gas and the DAB+ not working, it was just mentioned in the passing. In your case, maybe just do as I suggested, ie buy a cheap DAB aerial+amplifier and plug that into your "radio" and see if you get DAB+ rec...

Re: Dash faults driving me mad!
What is the mileage of this car? One thing that can cause "functional" ABS sensors to hand out duff output signals is a failing wheel bearing - but I'd hope that that would only happen when there is significant free movement of a wheel/wheels or at least hubs. Any/all VW Group products can...

Re: Strange but brief engine cut out after 10 minutes
This sounds a lot like being an intermittent loss of 12V at some point in the car, maybe not easy to locate.
The easiest starting point might be running a full scale of all the controller modules to see anything/any clues appear - but not a definite route to success right away, good luck.

Yes that says it is same as G13, which probably means that it is based on the same BASF coolant additive.
I tend to stick with the latest VW Group offerings.

Re: Electrical fault red warning light
Did that garage carry out a proper health check on the battery - I'm suggesting that while it should not be the case, any/all car controllers can/will start to malfunction if their supply voltage is "lower than normal". Low ambient temperature may well have just high lighted that that batt...

Re: Tdi wheel caps?
My advice would be to make sure that you know the correct VW Group part number - that will be moulded onto the inner face of these centre caps, then make it a search item on ebay, and wait for some to turn up for sale looking okay and at a price you are willing to pay. Most of the "lookie-likie...

Re: Engine Mount Torque Specs
When I handed in my wife's 2015 6C Polo 1.2TSI to get its gearbox mounting "sorted out" while under warranty, the "VW guided pathway" when a customer handed their car in while under warranty for "drive train clunky/rubbery noises", step one was to remove the gearbox mou...

Re: Cold weather, engine runing rough
Yes, I just looked at your first posting and worked out that it would be roughly 150,000Kms by now. What other seals or gaskets did you need to buy for the intercooler, when I remove mine, I plan to drain down the coolant as it is G13 and remove the intercooler complete with the inlet manifold and s...
