You keep saying that, but they will NOT do it out of warranty at all. I asked and even got a letter from Head Office in Milton Keynes, straight from the horses mouth. It takes them a day, and they cannot justify that cost unless its a safety issue. Which I argue it is: if its a safety issue on the G...

Thats good then. But be aware cars do not fix themselves (unless they are called christine.)

Even so, problem gone away, therefore do not worry about it. Come tell me when its back!

Pedal box is 26 + vat I then changed the brake pedal and switch to the recommended later design, which cost another 25 quid. I also got a complete set of new nuts and stuff that you need - since most of them are oval -use once jobs. - £6 Also you *should* replaced the steeriing column mount bolts w...

The official line is this: If you have a GTi they will add a weld to the clutch support. If you have any other car and it fails in the warranty period they might change it under warranty. Safety or no safety, they will not change it under any other circumstances unless you pay. Ranging from 290 > 40...

Oops, maybe it would be prudent to check your gearbox oil in future.

The A3 will do the same given a lack of oil!

Well if a bearing fails, its not usually obvious straight away, because the lack of lubrication will usually damage the hard outer surface, you will not usually know until it becomes noisey, and this happens because it starts to wear at a much faster rate. Usually they just get louder. But in some c...

No. What I do like about VW is that the proper parts are cheap to buy from the trade counter. What I do not like is that they just come out with any excuse other than the don't actually know, or can't be bothered to find out. Read around you see people call them the stealership. With good reason. My...

Ah the brake switch....

That means they cleared the fault code memory and don't have a clue what the problem is. And probably charged an 80 quid diagnostic fee?

So long as they know, if the light comes on again, you will be driving through a VW shop window somewhere near them....

Sorry yes, you're right, those guys at VW know what they are doing.
